It's a scary thought, indeed, but I agree. Ardashir ought to be able to shake things up enough to keep things interesting. Perhaps, Your Majesty, you might give him a couple of parameters to stay within, like, "No grabbing other countries out from under their rightful owners."

I am deeply humbled at the thought that my suggestion is treated as a serious proposition. I promise that I will not initiate random or irresponsible conflicts within or without the boundaries of your Imperial realm, however as I will state below and elsewhere a recwar with Antica would be beneficial to the revival of the Imperial Military. With regards to my overall vision for the armed forces I have seen military theory in Shireroth oscilate between relying of feudal levees (sp?) for defence and instituting vast Imperial Armies for which at the present time we lack the manning. The essence of my policy therefore would be to build at the Imperial level a force based on the fleets which will provide the primary force projection platforms for joint forces capable of robust interventions abroad and also capable of relieving our island outposts outside of the western hemisphere. In wartime Imperial Forces will be massively augmented by the raising of feudal levies by our dukes to whom the day to day responsibility for the security of their lands is invested.

In summary:

1. Make the Imperial Navy the primary focus of Imperial Defence Strategy with the integration of air and ground assets into the framework of naval taskforces capable of rapid deployment anywhere in the western hemisphere
2. Land defence shall be augmented in time of war or national emergency by ad hoc feudal hosts organised by the ducal lords of the Empire
3. The emphasis shall be on flexibility and firepower over sheer numbers
4. Retain and promote the use of the SNARL rule set as a viable alternative to the more intricate rule sets utilised by the MRWS
5. To review existing military equipment with regards the utility of certain weapons systems (hint, we will be looking at the potential for tripods after the style of the War of the Worlds (the Spielberg interpretation)!)
6. Arrange for a rematch of the Veliken War with Antica

I would like to find someone to fill the position of Imperial Cartographer. I know the office was abolished after we changed back to the old feudalism, but it would still be nice to have someone responsible for keeping our maps in order. The current discussions between the Duchies of Yardistan and Elwynn brought to my attention that we should have someone in this position again.
