As the new year begins, with its attendant changes, the time has come for changes at the top as well. This has been an interesting, challenging, and rewarding time for me as Kaiseress, but it is now time to make room for another. I abdicate my throne in favor of Hypatia Agnesi, Duchess of Kildare, who will, I am sure, make an admirable and able Kaiseress.
She will lead you in the revitalization of Shireroth, complete the new intermicronational rail system (along the lines of that in the European Union), and oversee the rail system connecting cities within and between the Duchies of Elwynn and Yardistan. I see many new developments made possible by the greater ease of travel, and more contact with citizens of our neighboring countries of Landingberg and Norona. I wish to thank those friends, both within and outside of Shireroth, who have supported me during my reign, and have encouraged me during difficult times. I trust these loyal friends will give our new Kaiseress their friendship and support as well. I look forward to a glorious future for our dear country, and much more activity during Hypatia Agnesi's reign. I will say, Fare thee well, my dear friends, and thank you for all the love and confidence you have shown me. It has meant more to me than you will ever know.
