Landgrab Proposed by the MCS

Post by Kaiseress Carol »

The MCS (the Micronational Cartography Society), which was originally founded by several members of the early Imperial Republic of Shireroth, is discussing right now removing much of our present land holdings, and giving them to other countries. The link is:

http://www.micromaps.org/phpBB2/viewtop ... =9214#9214

Please let me know what you think, and post on the MCS if you are not in favor of this. I have posted a very strongly-worded message of my feelings on this, and I need all citizens of Shireroth to respond to this very re threat.

Don't worry, not as bad as it was first thought to be. Still keep a sharp eye out. Don't give them an oppurtunity. Post more! ;)

Oh goodness--poor little Shireroth may get cut down to a single continent soon! Be still my heart!

And how loyal you are not to support your Kaiseress. I too know sarcasm. Since it is more than an insult. It is principal and class. I apologize to the Kaiseress that i had to correct one of her own citizens.

And yes, please do keep an eye out as i too am doing.

I can understand the sentiments behind removing some of our land, but if they remove land without our approval, then that would not be very nice.

If they really feel we should give up land, then we should have a consultative process where we decide which land to give up.

My Kaiseress! One of her own citizens! How dare you? I, Sirrah, am an Antican. I know no lord but myself and the Almighty.

Braden--

My friend, the Grand Czar of Landingberg, may have been overzealous in my defense. He did not note that you were no longer a citizen. However, I do appreciate his coming to my defense. Shireroth has a long and glorious history. I acknowledge we have had probldms here of late, but I hope that our reorganization and renewed interest in the country will go far to reinvigorating Shireroth. If we are to relinquish more territory in the future, it must be with consultation and negotiation, not unilateral removal by an outside body.

It will please Your Excellency to know that I meant no ill will. I think I am allowed to poke satire at this Empire from time to time, and you know I would not stoop to beg permission from just any petty polity or upstart princeling.

I realize that, and have always enjoyed interacting with you. I still wish you would reconsider and reimigrate. You have always had interesting things to contribute to our country's life.

They do realize that even doing so little as putting us onto one landmass would greatly disrupt the culture and structure of Shireroth.

Not so much. Most of the integral history of Shireroth lies on the home continent. Back during my brief term as (fake) Kaiser, I planned to give away much of Shireroth's land, eventually cutting us down to those provinces that had an active count(ess), those that had real historical value, and a few for any new citizens that might come along. However, as we all know, I was in power for less than three days and almost everything that I did was quickly undone.

Yes. I would, at this point, consider it core to the Shireroth nation; along with the "home" lands..

HERE HERE!!!

I have always been an opponent of "debigification" and agree that if we WERE to give up lands (and i oppose the whole situatiuon to start with. if someone wants our land, they should become citizens and go through proper channels or through recwar or something)

WE would choose what lands were to be relinquished.

ALSO

I agree that the greater Kildare area is an essential part of our nation geographically and intellectually, a good portion of who is left have theyre roots in kildare (winks to the kaiseress, hypatia, pandora) i actually would offer up some of our northern lands before the old appolan sector due to the inconsistant activity in that area.

anyhow... thats just the tip of my iceberg, i assure you. but i felt the jist was sufficient for now

My noble friend, the Baron H4773r 3lfs0n, is right. Kildare remains an important land for us. Likewise do most of our current territories. We have already given up a lot of land, all of the Duchy of Antica. Don't the MCS know that?

If we're still to remove land, let the burden of removing land be shared among the three duchies so that each duchy is shrinked proportionally.

Shireroth has a history of vehemently opposing giving up territory whenever the request reared it's ugly head, and it's been that way since Shireroth's founding.

Why should Shireroth change it's ways? Sure, Shireroth is certainly in decline and the glory days are long since past. Yet, isn't that the same thing that our hobby as a whole is going through? Micronationalism itself is in decline, and micronationalism's glory days are long since past.

Give what's left of us a break, eh?

And no, I'm not returning. So to those who still have something negative to say at my every inquiry, bite your tongue.

It is certainly good to see you are still around. We miss you here in Shireroth, and wish you were to return. Still, thanks for your support for us. We are attempting to revitalize our nation and appreciate all friendly comments. Hope you visit your old homeland again soon.
