Hey Shirerothians, how's it going - see you've got a new Kaiser, or should I say Ms. Kaiser just wondering, after doing a general search on your forums for 'Ryan' and 'GSO' I have simply found nothing on Ryan's departure and not a sausage on the GSO.

So, aren't people here a bit miffed like the rest of the Micras Sector? I surely hope Shireroth does not join the ranks of the GSO as it clearly is a puppet of the G.C. catering for it's every whim.

I'd really like to know what your stance on all this is, there are a few nations - Natopia and the CIS who will undoubtedly boycott any society in which the G.C. has a monopoly over, but quite frankly, this is a very big understatement.

I would at least have thought that Bill would have been a bit p'd off about this, or seeing as there is a new Kaiseress, do I take it he's been micronationally assassinated by mncentre thugs too?

I'm afraid I was out of the loop when the GSO was started--in the hospital--so I missed out on all the commotion. I really have not had an opportunity to discuss this with my ministers and citizens, so it is a bit premature to come to any conclusions. It would seem unlikely that Shireroth would leave Micras, since it was Shirerithians who started the MCS in the first place. I'm sure some of the citizens here have strong opinions, but I have yet to hear them. Thanks for your kind words. I'm sure we will be speaking later.

I had not been to the MNN boards for ages, so I( did not know about this.

Though the technical side of this GSO thing sounds interesting, the cultural limits and the fact that the great satan is a major player in it do make it sound quite bad.

Perhaps the MCS could return to Shirerothian administatration, or maybe have the members found a new, neutral land to run it from (Delvenus?)

Let's hope this is a trend that is occurring everywhere, I myself only heard of Ryan's leaving micronationalism on the CIS boards, and let's just say we have never been pro-G.C./MNN either.

And Kaiseress, may I commend you on your new initiatives and ideas for Shireroth, I have read them, and I am sure, they are the right steps towards making Shireroth even greater and look forward to a long and prosperous future for Shireroth under your custodianship.

Unlike the MCS's management, the GSO's is elected by all of its members. I guess the GSO is in a certain sense "catering for the GC's every whim" though, much like it is for all other members. Something the MCS clearly wasn't... but hey, you can't please everyone.

I really don't see what "loyalty"'s got to do with it.

EDIT: In an effort to not let this "discussion" destroy the atmosphere just about everywhere, this will be my last post in the thread. I also wish to apologise to the Shirerithians for this one, but this had to be said.

Believe it or not, those proposals came from loyal Shirerithian citizens. I am trying to generate more debate and discussion, but I believe many of those ideas will be adopted, many in nearly their proposed states. Hopefully, this will go a long way to strengthening our country. Thank you for your input. It is appreciated.

Babkha's done this before whenever they didn't get their way in the MCS, and it's always failed. So I'm not too worried this time.

Since I was confused by this for a moment, some links to explain the current situtation:

Ryan, the administrator of the MCS, said he's leaving in disgust due to the way people he thought he trusted had conspired to create the GSO, or Geographical Standards Organisation, a competitor to the MCS

It really would be nice to see the MCS become democratic too. As far as I'm aware, Kampong, Matbaa and Natopia are staying for sure, and Antica and the CIS are discussing it. The MCS and the GSO can work perfectly well together, so why not stay on the maps we're on?
