This should seem unexpected...

Post by Gryphon Avocatio »

In light of the fact that Shireroth now allows parties, I would like to establish one. Yeah, I'm serious. I've outlined a platform a bit. I'd like to keep it pretty barebones so that many people can feel free to join it, but at the same time I want to make sure it has a clear direction. So, without further adeu, I give you SPAEP:
Shirerothian Party Against the Establishment of Parties

- The Shirerothian Party Against the Establishment of Parties (hereafter refered to simply as SPAEP) is a Shirerothian political party established in order to combat the establishment of parties.

- The SPAEP is against the establishment of any party, and its members agree to seek any legislation combatting the establishment of, or furthering the removal and destruction of any and all political parties and political interest groups in the Shirerothian Government. Accordingly, this means that the SPAEP is against the establishment of the SPAEP, and would ultimately like to be the cause of it's destruction.

- The SPAEP also seeks the re-establishment of Traditional Shirerothian Feudalism, believing that working within the merit system generates more activity and creates less potentially weakening divisions than feuding political parties can.

- The SPAEP aims to keep government small and simple by eliminating superfluous positions and titles. Instead it seeks to create useful jobs and positions by listening to Shirerothian citizens' needs so that all Shirerothians that wish to may participate in the Imperial and Ducal governments of Shireroth. This coincides with our seeking the removal of parties from Shirerothian Government.

- The SPAEP believes in Gödel, Escher, and Bach.

- The SPAEP believes that all things are bound and eager to change, and as such seeks to establish flexible policies that allow the Shirerothian Government and Culture to grow while they retain the traditional and unique elements that make them Shirerothian. In accordance, the entirety of this platform is ammendable, and requires a 67% super-majority vote by all members of the party in order to be edited.
I think that this is sufficiently Yardistani to maintain my pride, and sufficiently self-referential to temporarily baffle people. So yeah, what think ye all?[/quote]

Hmm... that Nick the Yardistani should seek to maintain tradition and still go againt the grain is strange indeed.

Political parties are evil. Therefore I have created one.

Now, who's in?

The Party for Operational Oversight by our Party greets the SPAEP but threatens that any offensive action against the POOP will be met with military weapons with even more disgusting acronyms.

Me and Harvey did the same damn thing in Audentior. (The one during the Menelmacar age) Ironically, it was the major rival party.
By my hand,
His Niftiness, Meskan, Second of the Name, Kaiser of Shireroth, Overlord of the Duchies of Kildare, Naudia’Diva, and Northold, Overlord of the Baronies of Elwynn and Vorpmadal, Thane of the Shirelands, Keeper of the Apollo Legacy, Grand Master of the Orders of the Dragon, Griffin, Phoenix, and Chimera, Wielder of Vengeance, Count of Shirekeep, Knight Companion of the Most Magnificent Imperial Order of the Sovereign Viking Crown, and Lord of the Golden Mango Throne.

What's wrong with parties?

I like going to parties. Especially ones with music, and dancing.

But yes. I see nothing wrong with them.
