Although we probably couldn't use a typical Shirerithian setting, we could do a Zombie RP, probably one based on the Zombie Survival Guide.

Although it sounds a little silly, it actually is a good setting for a deep psychological and action RP. Instead of heroes, we have ordinary people thrust into extraordinary situations. People having to cope with fear and death. People who can fight back, but only for so long. WHo have to be creative and intelligent to escape, or at least survive for a little longer.

no. more eldritch like the giant blind penguins in the extreme arctic! Or of course eldritch as in the study
