I've seen graveyards livelier than this!
What's the matter, people? School? Work? Laziness? Depression sparked by the sun being too low in the sky during winter? C'mon, c'mon! Let's have a festival or something!

Languishing in the throes of the early stages of the common cold and worrying about how I'm nearly failing math, but taking little action to save myself...and reading Edgar Allan Poetry.

Delphi, I postponed the trial for a minimum of a week until I can get my brain to think rationally and logically again. The sinus infection is taking far more out of me than I'd expected (plus I've had it and been fighting it for over 2 months).
You can relax for the time being.

Yes, I know! The slump in activity is quite irksome, and nothing, not starting new religions, not holding parties, not threatening dire consequences, seems to e incentive.

*Picks up sign.*
I demand something interesting to do! I demand earth-shaking political cataclysms! I demand someone come up with a cure for sinus infections so that Delphi's trial may resume and justice may be done at last! I demand controversy and constructive action! So far, 50% of the people who have taken Hypatia's poll say the reason for their inactivity has to do with there being nothing to do. Our population is NOT shrinking. We must create new institutions and activities if we are to perpetuate our imperium!
*Hoists new sign showing Augustus Caesar wagging a finger at Shireroth.*

The ilk I have received from Bill (mainly) and others, though probably not shared by all Shirerithians, was rather depressing. The simple solution for me and most people is to simply not go to the place that is depressing; that is what accounts for why my current level of activity in Shireroth is less than my current level of acitivity in other nations, such as Natopia and Lavalon.
As for micro-nationalism in general, I've too been busy with school and other stuff to hang out on the many fori as usual. Also, I've decided to seriously curtail my use of the computer since I now believe that using the Internet and other computer activities that don't involve a lot of mental exercise for long amounts of time lowers your intelligence. (I'm not kidding.)

I can see it now...

The War Against Boredom
Earlier today, officials from several mircronations announced their declaration of war against boredom.
"Boredom has killed many micronations, but no more. We make our stand here, and we will fight!" says an individual who wishes to remain anonymous.
Joint forces are already making their preparations. New ideas, such as Ultra-Strength Pixie Sticks, will be tested in combat for the first time since the conception of the idea. Bright garish garb adorn these soldiers, for thei objective is not stealth, but entertainment. Alchohol, video games, loud music, even that annoying kid that posts on the forums that everyone loves to hate. Apparently, frisbees, basketballs, and other sports equiment won't be used to encourage activity outside. Some political analysts suggest this is because the goal is activity within micronations above all else. Cultural analysists disagree. They state it is because of certain micronationalists tendancies to catch on fire in direct sunlight.
Another government official states
"Do I believe this is necessary? Of course I do. Inactivity is a plauge on us, and we can't let it continue."
When asked about the possiblity of bad activity, such as revolution or spamming, he declined to comment.

Well, here it's not a matter of Shirerothians, but micronationalists. Unfortuanatly you have made yourself to be the new Hubert, which means that you are inherintly not liked by many people. That's your own fault, Mr. accusing-me-of-wanting-to-hack-micronations.The ilk I have received from Bill (mainly) and others, though probably not shared by all Shirerithians, was rather depressing
As I said in the other thread, I find that there's just nothing to do. I find that in micronationalism, Activity is quadratic (or exponential?) - activity begats other activity, and the lack of activity seriously hampers the ability for a nation to be active. Shireroth doesn't have a lot of active citizens right now, so this means that it does not encourage other citizens to be active either. It's hard to be producitve in a micronation when you are just talking to yourself... The same thing happened in OAM. But for me, it's more than just nothing to do - I just find it boring right now.
I can't work on Soloralism because no one else is a Soloralist, and who I can work with, Harvey, is 1) Not a Shirerothian anymore, and 2) Not on as much. If I had other people willing to work on my world (which is VERY hard considering that Shireroth has its own national culture) then I could be very productive, considering the fact that I love it. Of course, remember that my obsessions has changed a bit over the years. I find scientific things much more fascinating now than writing lore, so it hampers things a bit. Probably the best thing that I could do that's not directly related to the theology of the religion is timelines or the traditional Tolkien-esque descriptions of civilizations, (which I had worked on in Menelmacar, for example) but as before, it's not deriving equations. Same thing with Antya and Kildare history - no one really cares, and now Antya is reduced to two citizens. The only other person who would care, Joe, emmigrated and won't come back.
The Praetorship just got boring. There was no one willing to debate or vote, and it's hard to feel a desire anymore to kick people into shape. This I have no excuse, but I can't apologize because it's probably still going to happen. As for reforms? I never found it a lot of fun to do or make, just something that was needed.
Control of Destiny series? Similar to Soloralism here, althougrh less so. Most people just don't understand the lore, or even know what it is, much less willing to help with it when I get stuck. As with Soloralism, it's hard because CoD is based purely in micronationalist past, which means that the only people who could truely help me are former Apollonians, which there are few for nowadays, and usually don't want to work on it at all. Scott is probably the person who could help me the most whose name is not Harvey, but as with Soloralism, he's not interested in it.
Microastronomy? Same thing as Soloralism, basically, althoguh it's worse here. Not only are most people not interested, it is also because of the fact that a good amount of people don't have the mind for it. A good amount of people in Shireroth unfortuanatly just don't have the mind for math, and although I'd hate to call myself smart or something, I confuse even people who do have a math mind because I never completely explain things.
