I got most things other than the wiki when I did it the first time, but for good measure we'll probably set a date after which nothing can be uploaded, then I'll make sure to get everything then, just in case I missed anything.

That offends me! Prepare for war! Where's my wet noodle...That's what you get for learning basic math at the ripe age of 26.
And I refuse to comment on my comment to Erik, because it'll be taken the wrong way and I don't feel like getting into an arguement, even though i'm posting that I wont post about my previous post concerning Erik's post. I lost myself. Where's a signpost?
There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

I passed practical mathematics without any problems. So bite me where the sun don't shine. :P

And no one seems to answer the question I keep posing here and there.. EMAIL!
Many of us use Shireroth.org emails as our primaries, to lose siad email would be a big problem. Can you guentee the transfer of the email accounts and them working?
I'm honestly more in favor of just getting the money... total $120... that's... $20 from 6 people..... I'de be on of them.... So that's $100 we'de need.

Well, I'm willing to donate some cash to either Greg or Erik, whichever server it goes on. It doesn't matter to me, so long as we have steady hosting for the Wiki.

I've spoken to Greg Dean, and here's what the deal is. Either way, we can have a free solution for handling the emails. We're looking into one of two options.
1) To buy time and as a temporary solution, host the shireroth.org website on my server (and point the domain as such), and then once we figure out what to do with the mail stuff for the kuroshiro.net server (we've been discussing some solutions), then we can move over the site.
2) Keep the site on the kuroshiro.net and see if email forwarders are an option. If so, then we can arrange for appropriate email stuff anyway.
There are details to be discussed, but either way, the future is secure.

The only thing on the kuroshiro server is the forums.. the wiki and site are stilll where they have always been.
I also don't think you understand... as of feb 2.... if we don't get the emails moved. everything people have in their emails.. go bye bye.... Everything we have there goes poof.... when the space runs out... It's not just a matter of making the mailboxes.. I'm talking about saving people's emails. Transfering over the files and having the appropriate program for them. (Squirel Mail or something like that...)
Both those options just look like.. "maybe"s and "we hope"s, and don't really solve anything.
We need a solution that accually keeps people's emails intact. not just their email addresses. And why the hell isn't the Kaiser the one pushing to get this figured out?
Moving to PHP saved us money on ezboard Gold... granted... but.... for the site, emails and wiki.. maybe we should just stick with what we got, that works... and not try to slap something together and hope it works...
Wait a minute.... neither of those solutions works... Kiroshiro.net is already a domain.. we can't point a domainname (shireroth.org) at another domain , or a subdomain... it needs an accuall IP address, as far as I know... so that doesn't really work.. cause we'de lose Shireroth.org for one.. and all @shireroth.org email addresses would become invalid.
and we need to have this figured out in the next week.. or less. I like the idea of free... but the fact Greg is so hard to get ahold of and stuff kinda points out why I'm in favor of just keeping with our corperate host... 24 hour tech support and such is really nice... 2gigs of space is also rather nice... and bandwidth... and yeah... Free is nice... but all these delays and "we think"s and the fact it takes so long to get an answer to the email problem...
I really don't mean to come off as an ass, but.. if the emails don't go over compltely and properly, Anyone who uses a Shireroth.org email is kinda screwed. that includes... Me, My dad, JAmes, Alex, I think Scott, Nick and I have no idea who else uses them... So you can see why I'm pushing to get this done, and done correctly, and not just jeri-rigged together.

Go ahead, Erik.
For now, let's keep the old site. We can always do something with the dual space, and it'll give us an opportunity to move things to the other (free) server when it's less hectic and more worked out.
The transfer will happen; however, paying the site now will allow us to do the transfer in a year, instead of a few days.

Why are you painting this with such uncertainty? I'll tell ya what, while it's not ideal, one of my plans solves the email problem through any other moves. Simply have forwarders set up to Gmail accounts (which now I know can be done), and have those accounts set up to allow for outgoing mail from the shireroth.org email address. BOOM fixed forever.
Now, I strongly urge you not to pay for anything.
And as for the domain, there's a solution no matter what. We'll point it to wherever the site is, and then probably, with some apache mods or what not (which I've been learning lately), we can rewrite the url to point here, or, if that doesn't work, just have a url then redirect.
There is zero uncertainty as to whether or not I can handle the site for free, (well, under my cost) for as long as we need, so long as we're looking to get set up on the host where these fora are. I can do it indefinitely, and the server I'm on is great, reliable, (yes, paid, but cheap) and with awesome customer service.
Erik, if you want to talk to me about this, IM me and I'll gladly answer any questions you have.

I'm actually not hard to get ahold of really... you found my AIM, and I replied, but you had gone by that point, unfortunately.
Delphi is kind of relaying information here, because I've been preoccupied with other things at the moment, and he's been able to just poke me on AIM.
Now, the cold, hard facts. I talked to Kuro today, and he says that while hosting the e-mail isn't really feasable right now, (The server just simply isn't set up with those kinds of options... it's more of a corporate-type setup than a user-based) e-mail forwarders could be set up, even with a way of changing them for later use. Now, granted, this doesn't solve the saved e-mails thing, true. But Delphi's offer DOES.
I agree that a solution needs to be found, and truthfully, it's not my money, so I'm not really going to sweat it too much. And true, arguments could be made to support such an endeavor. I just want to see you guys hold on to your money, that's all. Truthfully, I'm mostly glad we got the forum set up, and while I like to help, the website isn't really my area of things.
We can set up a pointer to the forum under a shireroth.org subdomain, also. Might want to make it something like forums.shireroth.org or something... but it can definately be done.
