Let's knock things up a notch in here!

Post by Shyriath »

Darth Miho, Erik, let's get things going in here! This place is deader than Ronald Reagan! We have the potential for some good old-fashioned feudal culture! Are we gonna let everyone else out-do us in niftiness?!?

*gasps at a Ronald Reagan joke*Oh my... There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

Sorry, it was the second name that popped into my head. The first was "King Harold of England", but that wouldn't have had the same effect.

*Glares at Greg* Or, to put it in a different way: we need to brainstorm. What can be done to make our Barony cool? Distinctive? It has bits and pieces of culture already in it; how can we build on that? What can we add to it? That kind of thing.

Weren't we going to do a thing where the Hunters taught spirit magic to other peoples?

Start from the ground up, literally. First, decide on what plants, animals, and terrain are in Northern Brookshire. Then once that is decided, a culture can be built on it based on actual needs (I.E. Is there alot of mountanous terrain? Then the locals would have an emphasis on food, since farming land would be scarce, or they would be hunters, etc etc.). Then you modernize it. How did this base culture grow and change, and modernize according to how it was effected by both internal and external factors.

Groove on THAT, Shyriath.

*....is impressed*

Although there is a problem in that approach, in that the Barony isn't contiguous... there's Benacia on the one hand, and Monty Crisco/Woodshire on the other, and the two areas are separated. Still, I'm seeing if I can come up with any suggestions.

We already have that somewhat. I mean, isn't Benacia largely a fishing/farming community?

I think now I'm going to be the only Kaiser to have a child while on the Throne. Interesting.

Mostly true, yes... I did try to go into a certain level of detail on Benacia. The other counties, on the other hand, could use a bit more speculation on that count. I was hoping their respective counts could tell me if they had any ideas... I've been doing some speculating on my own, but I didn't want to force it down anyones' throats.[/quote]

Actually, that was a reference no one got because it was in reference to the wrong person which was all a mess up on a reference to Family Guy. Sad.

If we're doing stuff with the hunters and spirit magic, why not a mix between woodlands and moutains, that way there is a nice mix of the four elements. Dunno if i'm off base or anything, and i'm back guys, sorry to be gone.
