Shirerithian or Shirerothan?

Post by Delphi »

Ok I've been wondering this for a while, and can't pick one... "Shirerothan" makes more sense but I've heard "Shirerithian" much more...

And, upon Bill's vote, I've added "Shirerothian"...

The nation is "Shireroth", not "Shirerith", or "Shirith"

Yes, because I'm sure it happened because of the way we used "Shireroth" as an adjective.

I voted Shirerothian, because it is politically correct, and does sound better. But, that said, I respect the majorities decision and, that said, when has anything in Shireroth made sense or been politically correct?

Shirerothian makes more linguistic sense. Same reason I call Canada 'Canadia'. I don't see what the big deal is, though. Both are accepted, and either way you know what we are talking about.

nation: Shireroth two sylable word ending in th, "shirithan?" "shirothin?"

i like "Shire roth thian" so there, but if the kaiser says otherwise, i'll go with the "I vas under Ordahs!" perspective and leave it at that...

OK, thanks. You have all succeeded in making me feel really dumb. From the names you suggested, I percieve that this country's name is SHYRE-roth and not Shi-re-roth, as I always assumed, because, apparently, I'm a raving idiot.
PS: That was a really shitty thing to say about the Dinarchy, osmose. You just replaced Eminem as Number One on my List of People to Destroy.

Shireroth: [ (Original Western American Pronunciation)

Shirerothian: [My pronunciation)

Shirithian: [Erik's pronunciation)

Note teh similarities between the first two. Phonologically and morphologically, "Shirerothian" makes more sense, but it doesn't really matter. I think there are probably more important things you could all invest your time in.

Anyway, school has started again, so I'm out of here for a while. Don't burn down the nation while I'm gone.
