They say they're "the smallest country in the world", but obviously they're still bigger than Shireroth. They're 60 km^2 in the middle of Italy, with 23000 people. They're way up on the top of a mountain and all of them are armed to the teeth, so no one conquered them for a millennium or so and then it just became a tradition to not conquer them, and so they remain independent today.They also have nifty products like Fuhrerwein (which as far as I can tell is just a bottle of wine with a picture of Hitler on it instead of a label) and a poorly translated Pope commemoration card that reads "In memory of loving our Big Dead Pope". I almost bought it, but it was 10 euro, so forget about it. I did buy some San Marino coins and stamps. They have coins with Kant and Hegel on them! Indeed do many things come to pass.Anyway, they're an inspiration to all of us. Nah, that was just a popular myth.
