Shirlan and Straylight

Shyriath, as a suggestion, THEJustBlue mentioned that perhaps Shirlan might be best suited, if it came under the Barony of Straylight.I have inquired, for info sake, Scott, if this would then make Straylight a Duchy. Also, Ari, considering you are moderator of Straylight, any guidance, would be appreciated.Additionally, Kaiseress Aure I, your input, being that you ARE the Kaiseress of all of Shireroth, is most needed, and too will be appreciated.Much thanks.*smiles kindly*

You know, I'd like to know the reason why you want to join Straylight. Is it just because Shyriath is (supposed to be) here, or do all of you like this place? But anyway, I have a sort of a plan which you may or may not want to follow, but which might look good if you really do want to be a part of Straylight and Shirlan at the same time.First, Shirlan will be annexed into Shireroth as a thanedom (or whatever you want to be called - sorry, I will probably *not* be able to convince people to let you call yourself a Grand Duchy under Shireroth) under the Barony of Straylight. At this part you won't have any official political power or representation in the Landsraad.However, not having any official representation can be a good thing. You see, it will mean that you will be counted as citizens of Straylight, which will grow the size of this barony to quite a respectable size. In fact, I'd believe that with these two peoples in one barony, it should be possible to move the second part of the plan, which is to seek for the Landsraad's acceptance to promote Straylight to the status of a duchy.Now, it will be easy and simple to just separate Shirlan into a barony of its own. It will be a part of Straylight, too, so you will get what you wanted. And two votes in the Landsraad, I can make that sure :).OTOH, I'm not sure if this plan is really absolutely worth it... you know, you could just join the duchy of Brookshire. It would make you completely separate of Straylight except for the fact that you'd have a common duke with us - Erik. It would be less trouble, but well, I guess it just depends on what you want. One good side of the first plan would be that it would make it convenient to have Shyriath - assuming he becomes active again - the duke of Straylight and thus also the official leader of Shirlan even if he couldn't legally have more than one position of nobility at once. But it's Shyriath whose word I would much prefer to hear before translating any of our speech to actions.. "I believe they just installed Gentoo Linux."

*smiles* Just to hone a point home, Shirlan is truly more like Straylight....there have been questions about that fact....Um, Shyriath, would you mind this?Shirlan is establishing it's own thanedom with the straylight markings upon it, so, please make it clear to Ari that it's not a problem...Tanka!

*Blinks* No, didn't see any ICQ messages, Rhedd...But, at any rate... I wouldn't mind a Barony of Shirlan within Straylight, though I'm not too sure that the two are incredibly similar...
