Re: Economic Initiation Act
Fax, in the future could you not vote as above (with Aye, Nay, and a conditional)? It's very confusing when tallying votes unless I'm paying close attention to other parts of Shirerithian affairs at the moment. I would appreciate it if you removed the (6) part and actually voted later on. *throws grenade for the hell of it*BO0O0O0O0/\/\!!!!!!

Voting conditionally may be an inconvenience for you, but it's a very handy way to get what I want.Nevertheless, I've removed my actual vote for now. Viatax Sitadi Axdivijink Regigoraauk

Economic Initiation Act
Quote:The Landsraad of Shireroth grants the Ministry of Trade full approval to pursue the economic program expounded in the Tractacus Financio-Economicus.As a part of such, it recommends to the Kaiser that he replace the Charter to permit the possibility of commoners voting in the Landsraad with sufficient monetary resources and to remove any other inconsistencies with the economic program.I have waited for Shacia for a week, and she hasn't responded to my questions about her economic proposal. I really want to abdicate soon but I'm not leaving until I've at least gotten the Ministry of Trade started up, so, with a heavy heart, instead of waiting for her I'm proposing this now. Since it would be unfair to ask you to choose between the two proposals without seeing hers, I have posted what she sent me of hers here in MiniTrade. It is not yet entirely complete.I will likely be leaving the Golden Mango Throne just after this vote finishes. I sincerely hope that I can do so having made good on my promise to leave Shireroth with the beginnings of a good economy. I don't think the answer to that lies in the direction of fictional goods, as Shacia would have it - I think it lies in a gift economy, and I hope after I leave to remain Minister of Trade and work out the gritty details. Re: Economic Initiation Act
From what I remember, our gift economy went far better (when it went) than any fictional economy has in the past.Unfortunately, if I have to support one over the other, I'd have to put my money on the one that's more likely to succeed: Namely, Scott's. Re: Economic Initiation Act
There seem to be a couple of people who want a simulated economy. While my stance is still that simulated economies Do Not Work, Never Have Worked, and Never Will Work, it wouldn't be fair to deny them that chance, so probably we will either be running a simulated economy parallel to this under Shacia or Renee, or else putting one of them next in line for MiniTrade, and if this fails letting them try their thing (or even letting them tack their thing on if this succeeds) You and your nation should be on MicroWiki, micronationalism's premier source for information. Get over there and write up an article now! It's a quick and easy way to get your name out to the whole micronational world.

Re: Economic Initiation Act
I'll take a better look at the proposal next week when I'm not moving into my dorm, but I want to say right now that I would not be in favor of running a simulated economy simultanously, but not integrated with Scott's plan. I would rather wait for it to be implemented later.I'm extending this vote to 7 days, because I myself will not be voting until after I get a chance to study Scott's proposal, and that will be more than 4 days from now.Voting will end on 9-23-05. *throws grenade for the hell of it*BO0O0O0O0/\/\!!!!!!
Re: Economic Initiation Act
Hmmmm. Hmm hmm hmmmmm. I'd forgotten that it would take a change in Charter to do this... but as long as the new version merely makes it possible for commoners to vote, rather than saying they WILL...A question, however:Quote:it recommends to the Kaiser that he replace the Charter to permit the possibility of commoners voting in the Landsraad with sufficient monetary resources and to remove any other inconsistencies with the economic program.Concerning that last phrase, were there any inconsistencies in particular that you were thinking of removing?

Re: Economic Initiation Act
As stated in the other thread, the gift system is really just too detatched to be effective. And what's the status of the "Nobles can get two extra votes with money" issue? If No-vote Kildare could perhaps remove their vote so we would have more time to debate, then pressure would be lessened. They call it a signature, but no one ever signs their posts...
