You are talking the master of Final Fantasy! I may not show it all the time, but I have played through all of them! Hell yeah!Final Fantasy 5 is cool, except in the Super Famicon for what it was originally released, the main character's name was Butz (and to my knowledge, still is)That sucked! But the game was cool although I hate class systems.Final Fantasy 9 was great. Love the throw back to the oldschool Final Fantasies with the Black Mages and such. Also, much more challenging than the shitty push over Final Fantasy 8. Chrono Cross never really grew on me though...but it probably won't have a chance to either, because once school starts I won't have time to play anything as usual. I'm not really interested in music.... Except when it is just the music and not the lyrics. That's why I like midis....Really? I liked the FF5 class system. Sure, there's only 5 characters, but think of the possiblities with the classes! One of my favorite combos was a Geomancer with Black Magic. A Geomancer has higher HP and the same MP as a Black Mage, plus has Earth magic which costs no mana if he runs out!I also have a Sorcerer with the guard abilility from a knight.Also, a good combonation would be a Knight with White Magic. He'd have the ultimate attacking power while able to cure. But you might have to live without a tank for awhile...I sorta like Final Fantasy 8, especially with Esthar - That was my favorite city in the game. But the battle system SUCKED! I hate those stupid GFs. (Guardian Forces, not a normal GF )But I love Final Fantasy 9. They took a lot from FF5. Sure, you can't change classes, but they were still there.I played a little of Final Fantasy 2 before.... That was a good game. Not like many of the other ones - It was original with classic Fantasy stuff like Paladins, Callers, Bards, etc.I never understood that Spoony Bard joke until I got that far in Final Fantasy 2. Hmm...midis are too low quality for the most part, and lyrics, although not the most important part, add an emotional element to the kind of music we like.Class systems get too complicated for me. When I play, I basically aim to have the strongest possible party possible. Attaining that in a game without classes is relatively easy, but class systems make it more slower, and at the same time a bad choice can make you vulnerable.FF8 was ok, but it was far too easy. Like you pretty much pointed out, all you need to do is bang away with Guardian Forces and you win.Actually, FF9 borrowed generally from the oldschool of Final Fantasy games before it right down to the first game. I believe the final boss in 9 is the first boss in 1. FF5 was pretty much the end of the medieval mystic feel and when 6 came along, it started the transition to the more cyberpunk feel which would dominate later. FF2 is actually vintage Final Fantasy. I guess its a little different for me since I've followed the series since pretty much its beginning, but when I think of what pure Final Fantasy means, I think of Final Fantasy 2(4j).Yes...yes...you know, he still has that title on me too... 2 and 3 were Famicon releases, and they were pretty similar in style to the original, but they began to infuse more character development and plot for these two. Also, they pretty much start the classic 'struggle against the evil empire' theme of Final Fantasy.
