Happy Winter Solstice Festival-Of-Your-Choice

Post by Zirandorthel »

Whether ye be Christian, Protestant (heheheheheh), Buddhist, Hindu, Moslem, Zoroastrian, Soloralist (i.e. Bill), Unorthodox, Jewish, or any of the millions of religions round the world, you're almost certainly celebrating something over the next few weeks. If so, have a good one. Sun Bless, Earth KeepZirandorthel I of TreesiaThe Golden DarknessNiirus TinenetuwarLet the fates burn!

That song (I Saw Mommy etc.) always struck me as having two meanings, each equally sinister. The first, implying that Santa does not exist, that Daddy is in fact dressing up as Daidí na Nollaig and then kissing his spouse. In this case, the child's "What a fight there would have been" is ironic and cruel. A horrible lie, I tells ya!The second, that Mommy is having a dalliance with Saint Nick himself, and that a kiss isn't all that happened. In this case, the child's "What a.." is a double-entendre. Disgusting. So that song makes it on the "Eoin's All Time Disgusting Songs" list. Sun Bless, Earth KeepZirandorthel I of TreesiaThe Golden DarknessNiirus TinenetuwarLet the fates burn!
