Council
The Yardistanis are, as you may have noticed, rebelling against the rightful Kaiseress of Shireroth.I propose the following motion to the Council, which I believe is currently made up of myself, Ragum Volak, and Niirus Tinenetuwar:RESOLVED, that Hyperborea supports the rightful Kaiseress, Jadie of Goldshire, and that the Paladins will be mobilized to protect her and to quell the Yardistani rebels. This is of course subject to the approval of Zuson Ragum of the Paladins.

Quote:Soon, we will take all that is rightfully ours. Hold on tight, Yardistan. The Armies are marching. We must save the YAC from Shirerothian clutches. We must prove ourselves the grandest duchy of them all.Submit, my friends, my foes. Submit. I agree totally, Elder, we can't tolerate this sort of pig-headed treason. The only part of the Yardistani constitution that I approve of are the translations of terms..Kaiseress Jadie has my vote, at least, on the Council. PROPOSAL: That the Order of Volsaarn be mobilised immediately under Terminus Zuson Ragum, to protect Hyperborea against the insidious and traitorous expansionist intentions of the Duchy of Yardistan. Is it possible for one state of the Republic to declare war against another? Nay. No war, no mobilization of the Paladins, and no aid to the Imperial government. Locke.

*smiles, nods, and hopes to gloss over the fact that the Baron was suggesting we let the Yardistanis overtopple the Kaiseress, unless they actually invaded Hyperborea*Happy, happy, happy, fun, fun, fun. Eh? Hope you meant the Terminus; the Baron was all up and rarin' to go. Since everything is but an apparition, having nothing to do with good or bad, acceptance or rejection, one may well burst out in laughter. - Longchenpa

Volsaarn is not concerned with the petty antics of the Yardistani. A two bit rebellion is not worthy of the attention of my attention. Plus, the Paladins aren't a large military force, nor is defense of the throne their purpose. If, and only if, the Yardistani had actually invaded Hyperborea would I have acted. Locke.

The attention of your attention? That sounds like something from the Upanishads...more seriously, though, we ARE a part of Shireroth, and we are, to quote the Three Musketeers, supposed to be One for All and All for One. If Yardistan had invaded Hyperborea, I certainly would have hoped that some of our friends among the other Duchies and Baronies would come to our aid, and it's not very fair to hope that unless we help them when they're in trouble, eh? But isn't the whole All for One and One for All thing kinda derailed when One of the All starts plotting against all the Little Ones? ZirandorthelThe Golden DarknessNiirus Tinenetuwar"In order to find his equal, an Irishman is forced to talk to God."-Stephen Braveheart

I say we would treat them just as we would any other external attacker. They've forfeited part of that covenant by rising up against the State. Wow, I'm starting to take this way too seriously...must lighten up...ooh...mango!....*takes mango*...wait a second...what's a mango doing in a polar climate?...hmmmm...ooh, more mangos!....*eats more mangos* Since everything is but an apparition, having nothing to do with good or bad, acceptance or rejection, one may well burst out in laughter. - Longchenpa

About the Vote Block Act...well, not the actual content, but this particular line:Quote:Hyperborea votes one YEA and one NAY, just to be perverse, but really does support it. Two votes. Do I not have a vote, as a non-noble? ZirandorthelThe Golden DarknessNiirus Tinenetuwar"In order to find his equal, an Irishman is forced to talk to God."-Stephen Braveheart

correctamundo, senorita...Only nobles get votes. Each Duchy is allotted six (6) votes. The Duke may distribute up to three (3) of them among his Baronies. The Duke controls all votes he retains. The Barons each control all votes allotted to their respective Baronies. Raised by a family of Griffins in the forests of Llanowar, this young mage is rumored to be the sole male born of the Serra tribe.

Godsdammit, am I going to have to whinge and bitch until I get a vote? Because I thought I was over with that when I became a citizen That's alright then, just wondering idly. None of you have votes except me, and I only have a vote because Mari gives it to me. Not a perfect system, but we gotta make some sacrifices unless we want to devolve into a *gasp* democracy. I think that the Imperial government can handle a few angry Yardistani. And by a few I mean one. I mean, Nick may be a mean, rebellious drunk, but I don't imagine he's a very competent drunk. Locke.
