Since the Space Marines are back in control of Mar Sara, having brought modern technology to the many races that have been running the Great Machine of Xulthan for many centuries, the island has once again begun to propser. As the long-exiled Count has now been officially made the leader of the Mar Saran people, a number of reforms have taken place.Firstly, the Great Machine at Xulthan, identified as an atmospheric generator by the Space Marines, whose ancestors built it when they crash-landed their millenia ago, has been repaired. The various climates on the island are now controlled better and more accurately. But since the machine has run for centuries, ecosystems have developed in these various climes and they will not be changed. Otherwise, these ecosystems, such as that in the Azjol Desert, would be destroyed. A few area have, however, been changed for the better. The Ithaqua Ice Barrens of the south an around Augustgrad have been melted by the AGM and changed to fertile plainslands which are more to the likings of the Spacers. Likewise, the swamps around Xulthan have been drained and changed to plainslands to better maintain the AGM. The other climate-controlled areas; the jungles of Shala, the plains of Jacurutu, the Tyrelian Mountains, the Kaggan and Zhogul forests, and the Azjol Desert, all remain unchanged.A County government has been instituted and reforms made to the national communications network (forums).
