computer issues

Post by Solitary Poet 8 »

Just giving everyone a heads up here (or at least all the Windows users). A few days ago, someone apparently hacked the Microsoft database, or something like that, and inplanted a worm. Called MSblast, this thing has gone from Microsoft and been implanted in various home computers. They've already got a patch against it and a way to remove the worm, but apparently whatever its meant to do is set for Saturday the 16th. A symptom of the worm is the computer restarting after a few minutes online. Whether you've had this happen or not, I suggest safeguarding against it.This concludes your spontaneous technical assistance via bard. Good day. ~The Solitary Poet of DelvenusEdited by: Solitary Poet 8 at: 8/14/03 3:12 pm

Hey, it's not like your ISP can't do anything about it. Mine is anal enough to block TCP 135 incoming anyway ... In order to find his equal, an Irishman is forced to talk to a Finn.

*debates caring*....nah... this computer is fucked up enough as it is.. if it died... it wouldn't be much of an issue for me..hehe It can be rebuilt.. I have all the things I lacked when I first tried to rebuild it from an XP machine to a 98 machine... E. Welcome to the club, Zirandorthel. Why do you think I raised an alert about it? Pissed me off enough to want it crushed across the world. ~The Solitary Poet of Delvenus
