Problem with your claim on Califario

Only one small problem with your entire claim thing and that is that Matt wasn't a citizen of Amerada at the time, nor was he in charge of Califario...Quote:Sent: 12 March 2003Greetings Matt,I'm afraid your statement is not correct. I gave up citizenship in Amerada and the position of Governiere, but I never said I left or gave up citizenship in Califario. And as the only person there, and I hadn't been replaced by another Governiere yet, and seeing as the country was having a communist revolution at the time I think I was quite entittled to take control of Califario and guide it out of the Communist Amerada. And we don't just claim Califario, we control it.

Califario is not a territory. It is a Colony. You cannot be a citizen of Califario without being a citizen of Amerada, or vice versa. Califario was vacated. In any case, I'm just informing you that it doesn't belong to Shireroth or to any place other than Amerada, where it is part of our federal system of government.Earl's government never succeeded in taking over the country, as I never resigned in his favour, and the revolt was effectively crushed and defeated. I think the Califario website and ezboard will tell you a different story. Your government made no attempt to stop the revolution until after Califario left. Secession did occur on the 10th of March, Califario immediatly applied to be allowed into Shireroth and it entered the Imperial Republic on the 11th, where it remains.

I do not want to cause any conflict here, but I will make one final comment. After this, I see no point in continuing the discussion. I guess we will both agree to disagree. Nevertheless, I will voice my comment on the subject once more. It is true that you have the Califario website and ezboard. My government crushed the revolution at the earliest convenient time in the interests of Amerada and her people. It is also true that Califario had no Governier at that time. Nevertheless, you were not a citizen of Amerada, nor held any position in Amerada. One cannot in Amerada be a citizen of a Colony without being a citizen of Amerada. It is technically impossible for you to have been a citizen of Califario, and against precedent and legality for you to become Governier of Califario without first becoming a citizen of the Republic of Amerada and being appointed or elected (if there were citizens) to the position. Even in cases where there are citizens in a particular Colony, the President still has the prerogative to appoint the Governier if there is no written Constitution or election law already established in that Colony. Colonies have a great many rights and are autonomous parts of the federal system. Nevertheless, this remains the fact. Califario could not have seceded, since it had no Governier, and thus did not secede. The Republic of Amerada will not relinquish its claim to the Colony and will never recognize that any secession occurred. Califario never entered the Imperial Republic of Shireroth, nor does Shireroth have any legal claim to any part of Amerada.That is my final statement on the topic.Nicholas J.
