Shireroth going home...

Post by Mattlore Devious »

Today Shireroth were defeated by the Northern Macadam Knights and were knocked out of the World Semis finals... This means no more annoying posts :) The score was close - only 28 - 22 - but the match was a knock-out and the loser had to go. Northern Macadam will play Empire of Crofton in a Bowl Semi Final. It's not that I don't like the idea.. but... it's a problem waiting to happen. You can't verify the results, the person running it has a nation in the games... it's random. if it was based on some kinda skill of real people.. than.. I'de have not to much against it.. but.. it can either build up some egos of nations... or make some people unneededly feel bad. Kaiser of Mors IINow it is time to see how you die. What could be done would be to allow each time a certain number of points to allocate to certain attributes (attack, defence, etc). Then calculate the winners from that. After each game played, each team will be allowed more points (winners naturally getting more than losers) to strengthen their team As I gaze into the mirror of Doubt, I see the barrenness of this Life that remains. And at the begining of each season. you have to lose a few points. but you gain them back in othe areas... Rookies! Kaiser of Mors IINow it is time to see how you die. Remember Death is not the end.......But only a transition.End the pain

So... whoever figures out the best initial way to distrute points keeps getting them indefinitly since they keep winning? That doesn't seem like a good system. Sai'Kar Lum'EthHoly Light mageLast remaining Micron princessReally just Jason Steffke

With enough teams and enough games, there would at least be several teams on roughly the same level. It's essentially how various other "fantasy" type sports games are run, but I suppose if you really wanted to you could throw in a random variable. Most fantasy games have a random variable...One RL simulation which i'm involved in has a 'gamemaster' who generates all matches on the simulator we use. I could use the 2001 version of that to create matches, I was thinking of including at least some non-random components, But I was trying to stay away from individual players and was thinking of components like:FormCountry Sizeetc etc to include in working out matches... Oh, I see how it is with your little elipsus. You think your smarter than me! Well guess what, the only thing thats been proved is I don't waste my life playing a lot of "fantasy" sports games! :pheheh...just kiddingI do actually want to kill someone right now, but it has nothing to do with this ;) As I gaze into the mirror of Doubt, I see the barrenness of this Life that remains. Go to Apolyton ( http://www.apolyton.net/forums) and look at posters' profiles there. Markos has some kind of a weird system for giving people Civ2-like (though floating point) stats according to when they have registered and how much they have posted. I can dig up the thread where they are explained if anybody wants to know more... "The Euro symbol is a little box? Makes sense, given the cars you guys drive..." --be-fan (of Slashdot), who had a little compatibility problem
