Executive Announcement

Post by Hegemon Jason Rhode »

By the authority vested in me as Hegemon and the Constitution of Alexandros, in order to insure a vigorous, energetic citizenry, its activity being the life-blood of any micronation, it is hereby ordered as follows:Any citizen who has not posted in the fora, or communicated in some way with the Hegemony must do so every two-and-a-half months to be considered citizens. If they fail to do this, their citizenship shall be put in a suspended state, to be reactivated when they should resume communication. - The Hegemon"Where is Great Alexander?""Great Alexander Lives And Reigns."

Could you explain this? It would seem to me that anybody who hasn't posted in two months is ipso facto in a suspended state, and that of course it's resumed when they post. Does this mean anything legally, like that they have to reapply for citizenship afterwards? "The longer I live the more I see that I am never wrong about anything, and that all the pains that I have so humbly taken to verify my notions have only wasted my time. ok.. here's a good reason not to make this a law...I have a few shireroth people who are cits.. but never post.. but they still assist me.. and participate in their own ways... but they never post.... Are they now not cits? Are you refusing to allow people whom I work with in my suchy Citizenship? Polemarch of the Hegemony of AlexandrosE. I think the Hegemon's executive announcement is to say that only those who post here are officially citizens, as far as voting, holding offices, etc. are concerned. If we accepted people who never post or vote in the Hegemony as full citizens, we would have a huge problem getting a necessary quorum in the Demes, for instance, because many people who never be voting. Also, it would be harder to close votes, or figure majorities.Point is, people can take part in or be a part of individual duchies, but to be listed as a national citizen, they must post at least once ever 2 1/2 months.Regards,Edward ConwayStrategos

where in the constitution does it say the Demes must need a quorum? “After I'm dead I'd rather have people ask why I have no monument than why I have one.” - Cato the Elder“No Sane man will dance.” - Cicero“Show me a sane man and I will cure him for you.” - Carl Gustav JungRain is a government conspiracy.

It doesn't. What I am saying here is, this does nothing to people who post. Those who go 2 1/2 months without posting have their positions and citizenships suspended until they return and post again.Simple and necessary.Regards,Edward ConwayStrategos

Which means this is redundant. “After I'm dead I'd rather have people ask why I have no monument than why I have one.” - Cato the Elder“No Sane man will dance.” - Cicero“Show me a sane man and I will cure him for you.” - Carl Gustav JungRain is a government conspiracy.

No it's not. We need to state somewhere that anyone who doesn't post for X period of time has voting rights suspended. Otherwise we get citizens who post once, then never return, clogging up the vote tallies.Regardless of the debate, the Hegemon announced this. If you think it should be opposed, start a motion to override in the Lands.Regards,Edward ConwayStrategos

Two things:1. He says voting rights are suspended until the starts communicating again (i.e. gets back), which means a person cannot vote when he is away, but can when he is here. Since a person can't even come here to vote when he's away, what's the point of this order?2. Voting tallies would not be clogged up because there is no quorum. This order is completely redundant. I don't see much point in this order existing, and opposing this would be rather pointless. However, if someone does decide to oppose this, I would not be averse to joining with them in opposing, since it would reduce clutter. “After I'm dead I'd rather have people ask why I have no monument than why I have one.” - Cato the Elder“No Sane man will dance.” - Cicero“Show me a sane man and I will cure him for you.” - Carl Gustav JungRain is a government conspiracy.
