Okay, here's a brief explanation of the characters, and who I've slated each for so far, though none of them are final.In order of arrival:Sagittarius, the first Hunter: Previously a Lacrymosan priest, then an Elemental Mage. Kicked out of the priesthood, disliked the mage's bureaucracy. Left and befriended Horjin. Uses a bow and blade talons as main weapons.Played by meRutaus, the original First: Previously a guard of the Kaiser, but left when his family was killed in a raid by thieves when he was away on business. Moved south and joined Sagittarius. Uses a pike as his main weapon.Played by EoinPenryn, the Pacifist: Bachelor-for-life Benacian farmer that decided one day to pack up and leave because everyone moving in around him was "too violent". They weren't really, he just had different ideas. Sailed west, and found Sagittarius upon arrival.Played by Shyriath? (For background reasons)Segovia, the Soldier: Hotheaded tomboy that was outcast by her peers in the Shirithian Army. Moved south, met up with Rutaus, and followed him south. Rutaus was unaware of her pursuit. Met with Sagittarius shortly after Rutaus did.Diva, the Fallen: Yardistani anarchist who sailed northwards, trying to stay ahead of civilization. Met with Sagittarius on the Isle of Naudia'Diva, decided that running was useless, and stayed. A little clarification, just to be sure... this would be occurring in late Khaz Modanian times, I believe? If so, this would be occurring before the founding of Shireroth... the character descriptions should probably read "Emperor" in place of "Kaiser", and "Khaz Modanian" instead of "Shirerithian". It's pedantry, I know, especially when the RP hasn't started yet... but I like making sure everything is tolerably consistent.If you want, I could even give a brief overview of the state of the Khaz Modanian Empire at the time, for context. I think it might mesh in well with the characters' backgrounds...

I've been looking through the stuff in the Wiki, and although I've found another Hunter called Rutaus who seems to be separate altogether (in the Siege of the Questing Stone, or vice versa...), I haven't seen anything beyond the Horjinic name and not a whole lot else for Rutaus. Do you have anything in mind for his character, or do I have pretty much free rein within a scope?

Brief Historical Overview:The latter days of the Khaz Modanian Empire were ones filled with uncertainty, and no small amount of strife. The people of Khaz Modan had forged for themselves a great maritime polity based on trade, but to protect their economic interests had come to dominate their former trading partners. Their strange and advanced technology had afforded them mastery of the seas, and of the trade routes that were the lifelines of the scattered colonies the Khaz Modanians had planted to cement their grip.But when the Sword of Fire, the mighty and symbolic heirloom of the Imperial House, vanished without a trace, the subject peoples began to feel emboldened. Revolts began breaking out among the more cohesive and self-conscious ethnic groups under the Empire's dominion... the Benacians, the Yardistani. Unwilling to lose their empire, the Khaz Modanians began beefing up their military presence in the provinces.As you can see, this provides a useful backdrop. One leaving from Benacia because of 'violence'; a Yardistani trying to leave behind civilization (and probably a heavy-handed government); a hothead cast out by the Imperial army, all the more likely during a time of military movement.
