I can see Erik's point in this instance, though. Altering, say, a historical record to reflect name changes is one thing, but things like laws and decrees (especially decrees) probably ought not to be changed retroactively, unless by an explicit act of the Landsraad or the Kaiser (depending on whether one talks about a law or a decree).On the other hand, people do need to be able to tell what Muad'Dib refers to, so if we want to avoid having to make a law just to change names, I suggest simply adding a footnote instead; that way the original text doesn't have to be altered.
