Re: A new barony
I would sort of object to the name, under the premise that the Barony is NOT Apollonia. Apollonia encompasses all of Kildare, including Hyperborea, and arguably some non Shirerithian territories like Treesia.

Re: A new barony
The Barony -better- be multi-county, 'cause I ain't leaving Blackrock. And Scott has a point. Maybe "Nuapollonia" (and the citizens could be "Nuapollian") or somesuch, but really Kildare itself hardly has the right to call itself Apollonia. Still will anyway, but a Barony under it shall not.Or so says the Dutch...

Re: A new barony
Well, if you think about it, those three counties (New Jasonia and Blackrock, anyway) are two of the three of the major ones with the largest rements of Apollonian culture. The emphasis for this Barony would be, well, Apollonian in nature, be home to the Control of Destiny militia, as well as a haven for Soloralists.Nuapollonia. Hrm. It looks odd, but it seems to be on the right track. Bill Dusch - Archon of SoloralismCitizen of ShirerothProud to be Apollonianvar txtList = new Array()txtList[txtList.length]="'Whoa! A new barony
Right. Since Oz doesn't want to be a Baron anymore, I'd like to apply for a barony. Currently, I got 2 out of the 3 requisite citizens that will join. (Me and Joe.)The Barony would be named Apollonia, (What else? ) and consist of the counties New Jasonia, Vervollkummung and Blackrock. (Hypatia, last time I checked, said it was fine to have a multi-county Barony. Works better in the long run here.) For hopefully the last time, let me make it clear that Shireroth owns BLACKROCK NUA, not Blackrock. Blackrock Nua was given to the UAS, which was in turn absorbed into Shireroth. Blackrock itself died a death a long time ago, and no-one has any right resurrecting it now, or holding it as a trophy. Don't make me decree this..

Re: A new barony
By the way, Bill, why don't you actually talk to people before claiming their land? I have it on good authority that Shacia doesn't really want to be part of your Barony. Viatax Sitadi Axdivijink Regigoraauk

That, Fax, is assuming that Bill knew that Vervollkommnung was actually claimed.
Re: A new barony
He did. He was the first person I ever spoke with it about I believe. I asked him about it after looking at his map of Kildare.

Re: A new barony
Actually, when Bill and I were originally discussing the formation of this barony, I told him Shacia was one of the people he needed to talk to, and he said he had planned to already. Apparently she declined, but he did remember to try to get her consent.Right now, I'm just waiting for a final proposal of who will actually be in the barony and which counties it will encompass, before decreeing it. *throws grenade for the hell of it*BO0O0O0O0/\/\!!!!!!

Re: A new barony
So much hostility, and I really didn't even do much this time. Yes, I planned to (and eventually did) ask Shacia about it. It's my fault that I had already assumed that she would join, (she declined) and for that, I apologize. Right now the entire Barony is in the planning stage.I appreciate the offer, Oz, but I would prefer to have my barony to have a homogenous culture, no offense. Consider it my own little haven here in Shireroth.Regarding Blackrock: meep. It's more of a shorthand than anything else. I never said that I claimed Blackrock in the sense of its culture, the forums, et cetera. It's more of a shorthand than anything else for Blackrock Nua, and I really don't see why you are so sensitive to this in the first place; you seem to be keen to wishing to keep the nation forgotten, (a realistic sentiment) which I find odd. It's not a matter of a trophy - it's a matter of keeping the past alive.I never understood the concept some people have regarding to keep the old nations dead - all it serves is for people to forget its legacy, and despite the wishes of those who were in the nation, those who were in the nation will eventually forget too. Micronational cultures may change, but it is possible to recongize the heritage of the past. It's not a matter of a trophy.Do me a favor and explain your position so that we can come to an understanding instead of the inevitable fighting. I regret making this post already. I would appreciate it. You obviously, being one of the premier Blackrockians in the old age, do not want the nation to be perverted. At the same time, I don't want you to dictate culture that would be in my own Barony. Re: A new barony
I refer to Blackrock Nua as Blackrock for the same reason I refer to Nova Dalmacija as Dalmacija or Nova D., and the same reason I refer to the Halluci Nation as Halluci. Similarly, I would refer to Kaiser Mors IV as Mors or Kaiser, even if he's the fourth of the name. People from Joysie aren't actually from Jersey, but from New Jersey, England today is nothing like England a thousand years ago, dynasties come and go, and so on. I mean no disrespect or claim to former Blackrock.
Re: A new barony
I have talked to Bill about it, and I am now formalizing my request to become a citizen of this new barony.
