I belch in honor of such a discovery, and encourage all others to do the same!*BELCH!* There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.
Behold, for I have discovered a new God!
B'caw has made known to me a new God, heretofore unrepresented in the Divine Census! Surely we shall be all the more blessed to include him in our rituals for this point forward! All hail Rejecta, God of Belching!

Re: Behold, for I have discovered a new God!
*Belch*And in honor of this new god of belching, I present a story of his cleric and how he was lead to the path of the divine belch. Gorch was a mighty dwarven warrior, known both for his prowess in battle and his prowess in drinking. He was known throughout the Iron Mountains as Iron Gut, for not only was he a skilled drinker, but the belches he loosed were both long in duration and melodic in quality. After an enjoyable night of dwarf spirts, Gorch was headed for his home. On the road he came across a fellow dwarf clothed in dark brown robes and with a medalion with conecentric circles engraved upon it. The newcommer introduced himself as Rexgar Fireforge, a traveler in unknown lands. Gorch inquired about the nature of the medalion Rexgar wore around his neck, only to be told that it was a symbol of a mighty deity. When the two dwarves arrived Gorch's dwelling, Gorch invited Rexgar in for a drink. The two spent much of the night drinking, talking, and belching. Heck most of their talking had to do with the proper belching technique. As day dawned on the town, Gorch proposed a question to Rexgar, "not to sound corny, but your belches are mightier than any I have ever laid witness to, I wish to come with you and learn the ways of your mighty belch" Upon that day the first cleric of Rejecta was born, for Rexgar, as you may have guessed, was actually the mighty Rejecta in the guise of a dwarf. Gorch became the first of many clerics of Rejecta.------------------------------Hope you guys enjoyed this little tale.

Not to detract from the fun and holy activity of belching *BELCH* but let us not forget Fax's proposal for a God of Merchants...

No; because it ruins th entire points of religion, fictional or otherwise. Real polytheistic religions did not have a god of belching. REligion has only one point.. to give a structured answer to the questions on the world around us. Why can't we have a god of Beltching? (Demi-God accually.. but whatever).. I'm sure at one point there was someone who was so good at it it it was legendary... E. Re: Behold, for I have discovered a new God!
Yes, but belching is innately immature. No serious religion would have something like that. Would you actually be willing to believe that a god of beltching exists? Probably not. Even if we are in real life secularists, that's no excuse for making a mockery of the concept of religion. Religion is meant to be serious. It's meant to be more than just a structured answer to the questions of the universe - it is also a way to gather hope and unify people. You know just as well as I do that Cedrism is impossible to be the Truth because of its lack of seriousness. While I do appreciate your attempts to make it be a real fictional religion instead of an in-joke, it is still a far cry from the huge list of rediculous gods. Cedrism just isn't innately spiritual. I know that micronationalism is meant to be for fun, but more importantly it is meant to be a hobby - a hobby of a simulation of a nation, and religion is quite serious in a nation. Even if there are jokes within a religion, it should be kept subtle and not be so blatent.I hate the concept of Cedrism for the same reason why I hated Discordianism and Yellowism - religion should not be a joke.I also know that this pretty much goes against the entire concept of Cedrism, my rant. I'm not expecting you (nor do I want you to) convince me that Cedrism does have worth. I just dislike the concept tremendously. Re: Behold, for I have discovered a new God!
Have you ever looked past the gods Bill? At the stuff behind it? You wanna know what's there.. past the gods.. past the jokes.. past the silly...? spirituallity... you wanna know who's.. mine. You haven't even looked past the gods. Like most people.. you get stuck at what they see plainly.. and don't look past it..And maybe that makes this more like real religion than you think.. Cause all religions tend to get stuck at the dogmas, the gods, the worship.Cedrism is a religion of personal freedom, expression and enlightenment. I believe in Transcendence. I believe in Reincarnation. I believe in the power and the might of the mind, and the spirit of the person. I see the concept of god to be a joke, an attempt to personalize the universe, to make us more important than we are."Meditations on the Abyss" Season 5 of Babylon 5. G'kar gives a great speach on god. Lemme see if I can pull it form memory.. (saw it the other night)Random Narn: what is truth, and what is god?G'Kar: You don't really want an answer to that question.RN: Yes I do! *moves closer, as do all other narns present*G: *sighs a bit*. Take a light on a wall. The source of the light is created by our search for god. It is caused by the lattern we carry with us in our quest for god. The light on the wall is god. Created from our search for god.Sometimes we stand between the wall and the light, and god looks astonishingly like us.. *puts hand to chest and is being sarcastic* But if we step out of the way we can seee that god comes from the search for God. (god i'm butchering this...) Random Narn: Ah.. yes.. but... what is truth... and what is god...?G'Kar: *Extremely heavy and frustrated sigh*... truth.. is... a river...RN: And god?G:... god is.. the mouth of the river... *is sad..**All narns get up, looking as if they had some devine wisdom handed to them...and start to leave...*the point of that? The gods are NOT the center of Cedrism. They are the fun, the silly, the entertaining... The core of it is beyond them, for at the core they are nothing. As we are nothing. Except what we make of ourselves.I have class.. I will come back and edit in more later...Ok.. I slaughtered the speach. (rewatched it). It was alot longer and WAY more elegant. (helps the actor kicks ass...)Anyhoo..Yes. Cedrism. Cedrism has Gods... Yes. Many are silly.. Yes. Some down right don't make sense. But have you looked at the concept behind the idea of the gods? They were just people, souls who broke from the cycle of reincarnation. or birth, death and rebirth. People come in all manner of personality. Some are serious, some are silly, some are immature, some are mature, some are stuff, some are fun. Some are kinky, some are prudish. And all the gods have a distinct personality. Mors, Loki, Rejecta, Homer, Tux, Los, Meskan...all of them. In the end.. all a god is, is the personafition of the higher. The god of Christiantity was given human qualities- envy, wrath, love, forgiveness, smotingness- so that we could relate to it, and understand it. Thus all the gods, created by all of us are our personalities, they are personified so that we can relate to them. But look at what a God is. A god isn't the creator of the universe, nor the end all of the universe. They are simply people..beings, who went higher, as we view ourselves higher than mice... gods are higher than us in self awareness, understanding...power.Now some of all this I don't believe in, the planes, the rhealms...the celestial temple... balgurd. They are creations of the creation of gods. The gods are NOT cedrism, nor are they the religion. They are the personification of the ideas of the religion, of the central tenents of the religion, which are self-understanding, awareness and realization. They are transcendence, reincarnation, and the spiritual manifestation of the universe through us and what we see everyday. You see no real religion because you apparently hasn't studied enough religion. Religion is bunk. It's crap, artificial and trapped in dogmas, politics and nationalism. (thank you Dr. Franklin). what isn't bunk is Spirituality, the spirituality that is core to religions, but gets lost in them. This is why I abandon religion years ago. I cost off catholisis, than I cast off religion.. than I cast of spirituality with it.. than realized they are NOT the same thing. And rediscovered my spirituality. You say that this isn't a religion because it's not serious. Every looked at religion closely.. it's highly amusing, full of contradictions and stuff. Religion is a joke by definition. Many people can penetrate the joke, and find the core meaning of their religion, find the spirituality. Cedrism is a religion, and a spiritual idea. The religion is the gods, the jokes, the myths. The spiritual idea is transcendence, reincarnation, the universe as spiritualy alive. (this last part is only now being explored and explained). I have infused ALOT of my beliefs, or at least my theories ...ideas... into Cedrism. I am not a Cedrist. I have no religion. But you can see my spirituality in this religion. You say Cedrism is a Joke not a real religion. -Yes, it is a Joke. Yes is IS a real religion. It has all the components of religion. You say Cedrism has no spiritual commponent.-Yes, it does. You just haven't been paying attention. The Laughing Budha.... Laughter is a part of wisdom. Once again, I quote B5, in fact...same scene as before. (I love the writers of that show....)We try to be serious all the time, like that is supposed to mean we are more enlightened, but we must learn to laugh at ourselves, for it is through laughter, that we can get closer to wisdom. --slightly misquoted But I think I got close. Bill, what religion have you studied...? I spent 14 years of my life... in private religious schools. I know a great deal about christianity, Judiasm, Islam, Hindu and Budhism, Goddess...etc.. I have been formally tought some of it, and much researched on my own, for myself or for classes. I have read, I have listened...I have explored, and I have questioned. And in the end I found my own path, but I know religion. And aside from some vague..."rules" as to what makes a religion.. there are no rules.. All religions have their own spin. Some are Extremely different. Some are really serious. Some... not so much. All Cedrism would need to be a religion is for people to believe it. re·li·gion ( P ) Pronunciation Key (r-ljn)n. 1. 1. Belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe. 2. A personal or institutionalized system grounded in such belief and worship. 2. The life or condition of a person in a religious order. 3. A set of beliefs, values, and practices based on the teachings of a spiritual leader. 4. A cause, principle, or activity pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion.Dictionary.com...gotta love it.All we need is one of the definitions above to be a religion as defined in the dictionary.let's start with 1Quote: 1. 1. Belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe. 2. A personal or institutionalized system grounded in such belief and worship. We have belief and reverence for supernatural power. The Gods. power regarded as creator...or governor. the whole ideas of transcendence, enlightenment, the universe and souls... We have a system grounded in these beliefs...next?Quote: 2. The life or condition of a person in a religious order. This we don't really fit. But we have priests.. but I'll concede this one... if you want..next.Quote: 3. A set of beliefs, values, and practices based on the teachings of a spiritual leader. We have beliefs, we have values.. we have practices. As I put forth alot of the core concepts of Cedrim, would call me a Spiritual leader, teaching what I believe. As much of the core is my beliefs. Got you there. I put forth my beliefs, and work them into Cedrism. I teach what I believe, my Spiritual beliefs, as we have in writing a set of beliefs, values and practices based in what I teach. OR what other teach. For many have contributed.lastly...Quote: 4. A cause, principle, or activity pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion.Sure.. let us call silliness a principle.. Cause the enlightenment through laughter and personal exploration a principle and/or cause. Call being silly a activity. I'de say we pursue this with zeal and conscientious devotion.what is that.. 3 out of 4.. 2 out of 4... all we needed was 1.Whether you like it or not bill. Cedrism is a religion, with core spiritual beliefs, preached by many, and greatly infused with my personal beliefs, as the Prophet Brrapa Lu'Eraro..I take the guise of Spiritual Leader. While I have no dilusions that people really believe in the gods. The fact remains, the gods are not what Cedrism is about at the core. And even if people take over part of what we have here to heart, and consideration and maybe even incorperate it into thier beliefs, we have created religion. And we have spread Spirituality. Whether people believe it or not, they are taking part in their own spiritual exploration any time they read what is written, when they consider, maybe that has some value outside of this...So. Bill. pay attention. Go read more about religion. Go to church. Go to temple. Go to masque... Go to a sancuary... or just open up the bible(pick a version), koran, tora, bagadivita.. one of the vedas...Google for real wicca... Goddess worship. Research "Old europe". research the greek. They had gods of all sorts of things. Research Ancestor worship. China... Japan... the eastern religions. Read Siddartha(HIGHLY Recommend...). REad..read.. and read. If I recall you are athiest. I'm cool with that. But perhaps you should look more at religion, and look past the doctrins, declaration, leaders, history, politics.. and see the core spiritual. I'll shortly be writing a ramble about.. What Word do you believe in? (it'll make sense later) Try considering that religion is alot larger than what you think it is.. it's larger than the abrahamic religions, the hindu/budhist religions, the pantheon religions... the nature religions.. it's so insanely large...So diverse. You cannot simply say religion is serious.. or it not. You need to get your head out of the sand, and look at the world around you. Get out of this cetralist view you have... this generalized... ethno-centric... view...On a related but different note... " Yes, but belching is innately immature. " How bout you go talk to the Italians.. or Japanese (I think it is, or was them...)... were if I recall.. to burp... is a compliment to the cook, after a meal. Beltching.. burping.. it's just a bodily function. one that has meaning in some cultures. Just as many things have gained meaning. Different cultures have different traditions and symbols. I stick out my thumb.. it's a good thing.. *thumbs up*.. go to Spain. (I think).. and I put my thumb up... I just insulted you... I put to fingers up... I give you the peace sign.. I got to britain... do it only slightly different... I just told you to fuck off.. (I think.. some brit clear me up on that one please?) Actions, rituals...symbols.. meaning changed from culture to culture. I show you a swastica.. and put it on my shirt.. I'm a nazi. I got to india, to a hindu temple.. I wear that shirt.. I am a man of peace. I wear on me a symbol of peace. Symbol, meaning.. religion.. it's all fluid, it's what we make of it, and what our culture makes of it. American culture may say.. religion MUST be serious. our culture here, among us... says other wise. I believe otherwise.I think you are immature because you cannot seem to see the wisdom in laughter. You think I'm immature because I think laughter is spiritual... or part of religion. You have your culture, I have mine. There is more around you than America Bill... more than the city.. More than the christian/victorian sense of manners you were socialized too. While I am not preaching complete cultural reletivism, I am preaching that you open you eyes to the possibility that there is more to the world.. than what you see around YOU. E.
