A closer study of reincarnation.

Post by AngelGuardian93 »

We of the Cedrist faith believe that life is a cycle of birth, death, and rebirth, untill we either descend to Balgurd to ascend to the celestial temple (excluding the Imotti, of course). As I grew more interested in this topic, I realized how poorly understood this aspect of our religion is. Therefor I would like to call a council of priests and elders to determine exactly how this works, so that we may divine the secrets of our blessed gods! There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

I believe one issue that should be addressed is whether souls are born into new beings as time progresses (that is, someone dies and their soul is born into a baby shortly after), or whether this process is independent of our own time. Perhaps if souls are born into people living sequential lives, we would see the makeup of society become more extremely divided between the good people, those ascending, and the bad people, those descending. We might also see the population of souls being reduced as time goes by. If, however, souls could be born into people at any point in history, we would not have these problems.Just a thought. *throws grenade for the hell of it*BO0O0O0O0/\/\!!!!!!

Good points Hypatia. Here are a couple of theories i've come up with.1) The Placement theory: That you move in your reincarnations according to whether you moved up, down, or not at all. If you lived a holy life, you will be born into an envirement condusive to ascension. If you lived a dark life, you will be reincarnated into an envirement in which it will be easier to live darker. If you live Immoti, then it doesn't matter.2) The Resistance theory: that you are placed in your next life according to what will most challenge your current position. For instance, a priest in one life will be placed into a disfunctional family in the next life so that his soul is enriched by overcoming the odds. A darker soul is placed in a holy enviroment to try and redeem that soul. If you live Immoti, then it doesn't matter.3) The Chaos theory: That your soul is placed at random wherever a soul is needed. If you live Immoti, then it doesn't matter.4) The Bloodline theory: That whatever family your soul is born into the very first time it lives, is the family it will be born into untill the line is extinguised. For Instance, your father dies. His soul will be reincarnated as your grandson. Thus, between all familes, making it possible to only have a few actual souls. And if your Immoti, well, must I go on?Comments? There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find. Bearbeitet von: AngelGuardian93  am: 11/22/05 19:47

Their is no over-arching force that detirmines placement of the soul.No supreme being who sets rules for a where a soul is placed in the next encarnation. But there are some general trends. But first.. an analogy, but before that, some comments..The universe is not alive, nor is it sentient, as we know it. It has no wants, no needs, no desires, as we know them. It has no hopes or fears, loves or hates. The universe, simply is. It is not alive, it is not dead. We are the universe. And through us, the universe lives, and dies, and learns.Through the rock on the beach, star in the heavens, the woman at the market, the universe is.Your body, is a bucket of water. Your soul, is the water. When your body dies, the water is transfered to another bucket, untill that body dies. As your soul moves from bucket to bucket, it may become murkier, with the darkess of ill-karma, of evil deed, or it may become clear, bright and shimmering, from good-karma, of good deeds, or it may simply remain in the middle, neither murky nor shimmering. As it moves toward an extreme of murk or shimmer, you move closer to descent or trancedence. The bucket the water of your soul resides in is simply detirmined by what bucket is available, but water that is connected on the web of life, tends to gravitate to each other. Souls, closely connected in one life, will gravitate toward each other for the next. But this is no absolute. In this way, souls of a same family, will travel the infinite of time with each other, as will close friends, and bitter enemies. All things make the universe, and as such, all things, living and dead have a soul. The rock on the beach, the mouse in the forest, the women at the market, all have soul. When a soul is in body, it is in a bucket, but from wence did this bucket get it's water first. Think upon a great lake. Filled with water. when a soul is first formed, a bucket is dipped into the lake, and is filled with the water. A soul is formed, from the lake of the universal soul. From the soul of the universe. When a soul ceases to be, it is poured back into the lake, what it has learned and expereienced is shared with the lake, mingles with the waters that are there. And the universe understands itself, that much more. Future souls, may carry on some of what was added to the lake, in the intangible of the soul and spirit. If the universe has to many souls, and no enough buckets, some souls return to the lake. Be not sad for the end of these souls, for the return to the universe, to be reused in the creation of future new-born souls. When the universe has more buckets than souls, the buckets are dipped into the lake, and a new soul is formed from the water that enters. But once again, we must understand to not see the universe as creature. It is not the universal god. It is not the supreme being. It simply is. It is everything, and nothing. It is not alive as you and I live. Though we may desire to understand it as such, or to place upon it human qualities, there is more to what is, than what we are. And to think all is like us, below us, or even above us, is huberous. The universe simply is. We simply desire more complex answers, to very simple questions.Does this answer the questions set forth my friends? Brrapa Lu'Eraro"Not all who wander are lost.."

The Hunters of the Stag see reincarnation merely as a passing of the spirit from one body to another. And, seeing as all things have spirits, it is quite possible (even probable) that one could be reincarnated as a rock, a tree, an animal, or even an idea.

'bout time you showed your prophetic mug around here! But I do have another question. You're telling me some souls are returned to this 'lake' without achieving either ascention or descention or immoti? There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

Interesting. I didn't know Cedrism was a karma-based faith. What exactly transcends or decends when the soul energy is murky or shimmering? Is it just pure energy, or do the people that lived those lives retain their memory? If I'm reincarnated as a mouse, am I still "me", or am I a mouse with my past life erased? It depends. Memory retention varies from person to person (I should say, from soul to soul.)

I would point out the fact the lake was a metaphor to make things easier to understand/write.Yes, some souls don't go either way or even the middle. They merge back into the "lake". When you transcend or descend you transcend as energy to a high plane on consciousness, you would proly than gain access to the memories of past lives, and be aware of them. But before that, you would normally NOT recall your past lives, as memory is retained as a physical commonent ie.. the brain. But these expereiences and memories can imprint upon the soul. I also point out that your gender may change from one life to other. This may lead to some answers as to why some people are born feeling they should be the other sex. They may have been one sex for many encarnations, and in this one are the opposite, so the other sex got imprinted on their soul, so they are somewhat disoriented in their new sex. (theory, not really a statement)I'de imagine memories may sometimes surface from past lives, in meditation and in dreams. I'de also imaging that they imoti and Transcendi would gain better access to the events of their past lives, than the descendi, for they are trapped in the moment. One would think that the Descendi would remember their lives even clearer than the gods or transcendi, but have it tainted to only remember the bad parts. There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

Are the Demon Fish a type of Descendi, or are they just tainted?
