Would it be possible for me to have a subdomain for this, where I could supply a new-ticker of recent events? Or even a page that I could have access to?Probably the easiest way to go about doing this is to provide a link to a Blog (via Blog*Spot or LiveJournal). I would then be able to update the News Ticker as necessary.In any case, I'd also like a link SOMEWHERE on the main forum page. A link in the header (perhaps a line underneath the "Malarbor Says" box?), or even a sticky on the top of the general form would be most appreciated. What I'd REALLY like to do would be to have a ticker run headlines, and emails send in-depth.Also, I wonder if it is possible to use HTML to "get" text from another site, and then place that into a ticker. Or would that require Java? If it is within my authority as Minister of the Interior, I would like to grant Fax the title of Minister of Information (under the Ministry of the Interior). Don't let me TOUCH the site. I'm horrible at website design.However, I do like the bit about the position under the MiniInt. I'd very much like to have a news ticker sort of thing going on.The difference between Malarbor Says and KSHR (K-Shire) is format. Malarbor is a vengeful deity wreaking information upon the world, while KSHR would be much more of news snippets. ("Today in Brookshire, it's rainy, with a chance of Yardistani Revolt. Watch out so you don't get annexed.")It would also be used for upcoming events, current events, and general newscasting, basically. And if anyone disputes my abilities for such a task, might I remind you I have an AA in Radio Broadcasting, an internship with ClearChannel News, and several close friends in the business.I'd love to do sound byte actual radio casts, but I don't have either the equipment or the net connection. Do you have any idea how long a 30-second .wav (or even a .mpg) takes to upload on a 56k connection? And I don't have a microphone.I guess I could CD important newscasts and give them to someone with a "Sonoma" to upload, or I might just be stubborn and give it a shot anyway. If I do the latter, expect 10-second MP3 sound bytes, and I'll need access to the FTP server, as well as a subdomain (or at least a page) to put this stuff on.Questions? Comments? Rants and raves? AfterZ ran radio for 2 broadcasts.. although suffered problems because it relied on people reading it in about 10 languages :S.You can make a link (javascript i think) which will grab a random line of text from a txt file so that you wouldnt have the same (well not often) news on each page. You would just need to keep the txt file up to date.
