You have made contributions to the micronational scene for a long time--it's a shame you are leaving because of a personality conflict, and your perception about your welcome here. Please post again and tell me if you are really staying or going. I will then have no choice but to honor your petition.

I think I need to explain myself here.First of all, for the moment, I'm not going to rescind this.The reason why I do this is not merely because I had an argument with Osmose. Namely, it's Osmose's attitude himself - probably the most immature insensitive arse I have ever known.He first insults both me and Hypatia by declaring that there are no such things as mental disorders, that they are crutches, without bringing any evidence to the table as to why, other than saying that ADD was simply "not paying attention" rather than an actual disorder. This is simply not true, and simply put, he has no right to even declare this as he knows absolutely nothing about psychiatry. He then goes to say that all people with "mental disorders" do it through choice, and that there are no biological factors involved; even the mentally retarded do it by choice. (Not including the fact this is BS - even if it was through choice, there has to be biological factors involved because, you know, we're biological creatures)Later on, for my working mother vs. stay-at-home mother paper, I asked for his opinion on the debate. Basically he insults stay-at-home mothers in his usual blunt way, and when I tell him the advantages of stay-at-home moms through my own mother's experience, he basically mocks me and calls me a baby and such. That is absolutely inexclusible to do something like that, especially when he knows that I am incredibly sensitive.After that, he says all science is bullshit, and that all sane people don't follow it, rather they follow religion. Other than the fact that it's simply not true, that's basically against what I stand for. He brought up the "mommy" issue again, continued to taunt me, calling me pathetic and whatnot, and eventually, I couldn't take him anymore.If he can't control his mouth, then I cannot talk to him. He is horrible with fights - look at his signature, for instance. His immaturity is also shown in Charas when he made a friggin' signature of Snake eating a snake to mock someone there whose handle is Snake Eater. He's simply an immature, triballian teenager who I absolutely refuse to even acknowledge his existance.No wonder Harvey doesn't like him anymore, and no wonder he doesn't go on AIM: He can't stand him.So I have two options for Shireroth for my return: For Osmose to make an offical apology and swear to never do this again, or for Osmose to be severely punished to make him never do something like this happen again. Simple as that.This may seem selfish, but I have no other choice. I will not stand to see someone make fun of my mother, who had dedicated her entire life towards me. Bill--I have read what you have posted with care and concern. Your concerns also touch me and my life at many intersections. First--I have been a stay-at-home parent for 27 years. I had 2 special needs children which necessitated this (you will understand why having a parent home in that case is vital to the successful growth of her offspring). I feel my life and work have been of great value--far above petty issues of pay. Second--there are conditions which appear in the population at various levels of severity. Most require little accommodation, while others require early, consistent, and loving interaction which can last an entire lifetime. Most of us fall somewhere in the middle, but by no means all. Third--as to whether one's condition is a crutch--it can be, but it doesn't have to be. As to the insult part. I am very sorry you have been on the receiving end of this type of behavior. There is no place for it in civilized society, and it doesn't belong on the internet. Civilized people engage in civil discourse, with respect for each other. Unfortunately, this is sometimes overlooked, ignored or flauted, with predictably acid results in interchanges between people. Judgments and harsh, critical statements are all-too-easily given by those who have unshakable but uninformed opinions. A few years tempering often helps, but in the meantime those statements rankle.I believe Shireroth will be diminished by your leaving. But I have hope that your absence won't be permanent.
