Landsraad Bills and Acts Act

Post by Gryphon Avocatio »

Landsraad Bills and Acts ActThe insperation for this bill came from the confusing mess that is the Landsraad Passed Bills forum. It is difficult to tell exactly what the point of each thread is; hence, this law is designed to facilitate the perusing of bills passed thusforth.1) Bills and acts submitted to the Landsraad shall shall be written in the form of a completed law, not in the form of a question or multiple questions; i.e., laws shall be written as statements of fact.2) Bills and acts submitted to the Landsraad shall be voted on by single "Aye" or "Nay" or "Abstain" vote, or any other response that clearly states a noble's position and vote. Nobles may not vote on parts of a bill or act; they must vote upon the bill as a whole.3) Bills and acts submitted to the Landsraad may include a short preamble to explain the purpose of the bill or act.4) Bills and acts may not be modified in any way after voting has begun, except to fix errors in grammar or spelling. -Gryphon Avocatio- Anarch and Duke of all Yardistan - Minister of Imigration and Naturalisation, Shireroth - Shirerothian Elder - "Minsiter of Dance, Pants and Funny Walks" - SAVE THE KIWI!! God save our gracious Queen, long live our noble Queen, God save the Queen. Send her victorious, happy and glorious, long to reign over us; God save the Queen. Thy choicest gifts in store On her be pleased to pour, Long may she reign.May she defend our laws, And ever give us cause To sing with heart and voice God save the Queen.

Hmm...* reads pub9.ezboard.com/fshirero...D=44.topic *To tell the truth, I like Scott's Landsraad Procedure Act better... especially the parts of it that this invalidates. They allow a bit mo re of flexibility and speed so that we won't have to loop over acts endlessly simply because of omissions or stuff. .Straylight votes NAY, wishing that 1) people would start to actually follow the set down Landsraad procedure and 2) if everyone suddenly decides to join me in opposing this bill, the good parts of it will go through the Landsraad again... Mitä minä todella sanoin

*checks Landsraad Procedure, Take 2*Quote:4. At any time within the first two days of a bill being on the Landsraad floor, the noble who proposed it and THIS NOBLE ALONE may make changes to the wording of the bill in response to comments and suggestions from other Landsraad members. If this is done, a post must be made CLEARLY STATING that such changes have occurred. Every noble who has voted on the bill will then be allowed to change their vote in response to the changes in the bill. If the first two days of voting have already passed, then any changes will have to be made by an entirely new bill through the standard procedures. This is the only thing I'm changing. It's confusing when you repeatedly change a bill after it's already been voted on. Also, I'm suggesting we add a format to the bills and acts because it makes it easier to tell what the laws actually are. -Gryphon Avocatio- Anarch and Duke of all Yardistan - Minister of Imigration and Naturalisation, Shireroth - Shirerothian Elder - "Minsiter of Dance, Pants and Funny Walks" - SAVE THE KIWI!!
