Landsraad 3: Voting Period

Post by Kaiseress Semisa I »

Article 2, Section B, Clause 1

From:
A standard bill shall be on the voting floor for four (4) days. The Praetor may exte]nd a standard bill to seven (7) days if and only if he or she believes that nobles with an active interest in it have not gotten a chance to vote, and that these nobles could significantly impact the outcome. He or she may do this at any point within seven days of the vote having been brought to the floor. When a bill has exhausted its respective time limit, the Prtor shall declare the vote passed or failed based upon the votes it has received, close it, and archive it. If the Praetor fails to do so, the vote is nevertheless considered unofficially closed.
To:
Any bill shall remain before the Landsraad for four (4) days. The Praetor may extend a standard bill to six (6) days if and only if he or she believes that nobles with an active interest in it have not gotten a chance to vote, and that these nobles could significantly impact the outcome. He or she may do this at any point within the initial four days days of the vote having been brought to the floor. When a bill has exhausted its respective time limit, the Praetor shall declare the vote passed or failed based upon the votes it has received, close it, and archive it. If the Praetor fails to do so, the vote is nevertheless considered unofficially closed.
Reason: Clarification, shortening of duration, tightening of extension.

'Ditto' says the parrot. There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

I see a slight problem, with the wording. In the first one, it specifically states it's talking about the voting time. In the new version, the first sentence just says "shall remain before the Landsraad", which could mean in voting or in debate.

That's because another proposal combines the two times.

*passes out from all the proposals*

Which one is that?
Former Dinarch of Antica
Former Citizen of Shireroth
Former Scourge of Micras
