Re: Treaty with the Republic
Ric has a good point about it conflicting with our Dinarchy treaty.I would suggest we remove the part about recognizing the Republic's territory from this new version. That way it doesn't conflict with the Dinarchy treaty. If/when the Dinarchy derecognizes us, thus breaking the treaty, we can add on something recognizing the Republic's territory.I know it seems like a waste of time, but I think it's an important point of honor that we're not the ones to break the treaty.

I agree. I'm not even clear on what we own in terms of land. ________________It is a damn poor mind indeed which can't think of at least two ways to spell any word.-Andrew Jackson

Treaty with the Republic
The problem with remaining neutral in this situation is that the Dinarchy has given us two choices: If we officially don't recognize the Republic, they will stay allied with us. If we officially do recognize the Republic, remain neutral, or make no statement at all, then the Dinarchy either cuts off relations or starts ending them as they see only two sides - with them or against them. This treaty clarifies the situation without having the Dinarchy choose for Shireroth. Are we going to be bullied by the Dinarchy into not recognizing what has proved itself to be a nation ready to enter the intermicronational ring? They call it a signature, but no one ever signs their posts...

Lac Glacei is ours, lock stock and barrel, so no worries about that. There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

There is a certain treaty which complicates the situation abit, dear Duke... It clearly states joint sovereignty in it.... Richard LyonYansha Elaer Kyon gef ShanPernem kahn gef kuymal per varga stiPernem kahn gef varga per kuymal sti

The one with Ryan? I believe what happened was that we agreed to joint sovereignty with Treesia, Treesia died, thus letting LG go totally to us, then Treesia un-died and rejoined the Grand Commonwealth. So I don't think it's a problem.
Re: Treaty with the Republic
That would be Shireroth's position, I wonder what the Grand Commonwealth's is. Richard LyonYansha Elaer Kyon gef ShanPernem kahn gef kuymal per varga stiPernem kahn gef varga per kuymal sti

No, I think Treesia formally granted Lac Glacei to us in some official statement, although the EZPlague has conveniently destroyed all memory of it.

Iain thinks otherwise...

That's cos Iain is a quasi-legal institution by himself, and will in fact argue against legislation which he wrote
