Write this up in proper format and I'll put it before the Landsraad. Bringing us closer to Monocitizenship is always a good thing in my book. Viatax Sitadi Axdivijink Regigoraauk

Restricting Dual Citizenship further.
Right then. Our current dual citizenship laws, while they work, I personally think they should be restricted a little bit more. Not that much, but only in this specific case.Currently, what we have is: Three total citizenships allowed, with the exception of the Kaiser, who must only have citizenship in Shireroth. What I suggest is sort of a pyramid of restrictions.Non-nobles: 3 citizenshipsNobles and Ministers: 2 citizenshipsKaiser: 1 citizenshipWhy, exactly? This is to make sure that those who are in the nobility and the ministry are dedicated to the nation further. Two citizenships is an amount that is reasonable to promote loyalty within the nation. More citizenships divides the amount of loyalty and time one has within a micronation, and that is a problem. This allows non-nobles (such as newbies) to explore various nations, and, once they are dedicated enough, can focus further more to Shireroth. Re: Restricting Dual Citizenship further.
I still say that monocitizenship is a bad idea, but I think this will be perfect for a nation such as ours. We're not a young nation, and have a stable loyal population, so this should work well, and a good enough compromise to allow some freedom while promoting loyalty. Despite what some people may say, (namely, those with a huge amount of dual citizenships, such as WarVoid and Sirithil had) the more dual citizenships one has, the less active and loyal you are to a particular microntion. Nobility and the ministries are a good place to increase restriction.I still want some more comments, though. Re: Restricting Dual Citizenship further.
Wow. I'm suprised. The current Lawbook has almost nothing about dual citizenship. My proposed amendment:Dual Citizenship Restriction Act of 2235 ASCCurrent:Quote:Chapter VII. Laws of the Land.C. Dual Citizenship1. Basic Dual Citizenship shall be allowed to citizens of Shireroth.Amendment:Quote:Chapter VII. Laws of the Land.C. Dual Citizenship1. Basic Dual Citizenship shall be allowed to citizens of Shireroth, with restrictions. a. Dual Citizenship is defined as the state of being a citizen of Shireroth and one or more other micronations.2. Dual Citizenship shall be restricted as follows: a. A citizen who is not a Minister or Noble may have only as many dual citizenships as are allowed by the Shirerothian policies of immigration. b. A citizen who is in the nobility or a minister, may have a maximum of one citizenship outside of Shireroth. c. The Kaiser of Shireroth is banned from dual citizenship.3. If a citizen is promoted to a position which limits further limits the amount of dual citizenships, the citizen must change zir citizenships to comply with the new limit. a. Failure to comply with these regulations will result in demotion or disqualification from the position. Re: Restricting Dual Citizenship further.
This gave me an idea - one of the reasons Shireroth is such an active nation is because so many people from other nations regularly visit the board and comment. However, these same people who keep Shireroth active are often unable to immigrate only because they have more than two other citizenships already. If we are to restrict Nobles and Ministers of Shireroth to only one other citizenship, the danger of disloyal government officials will be greatly decreased. Since the commoner has little say in the government anyway, there is little danger from disloyal citizens in the common population. Why not open that level up a bit more and allow our already actively participating fans to join us as well? If the commoner status is to be primarily for newbies checking out new nations, let's not shove them away for doing so.I would be more willing to support this bill if the Tri-Cit restriction for common population were raised or at least loosened.Of course, that's a matter of Kaiserial decree, so what it means to YOU, Bill, and your BILL, Bill, is to slightly alter section 2a to something along the lines of "A citizen who is not a Minister or Noble may have only as many dual citizenships as are allowed by the Shirithian policies of immigration." — in this manner, it is left open for the Minister of Immigration and Kaiser to determine how many citizenships are allowed, and since each are in the executive arm of government, they can make decisions much more expediently than it would take for the Landsraad to change a law.
