Duel Cit Restrictions.
Under the wording of the Restated Tri-Citizenship decree, the Landsraad has the power to further restrict the number of multi-citizenships a person can have. I believe it would be in this nations best interest to further restrict Duel citizenship. From 3 to 2. Multi-Citizenship is a plague upon the Micronational world. And I feel it is time we did something about it. At least on our end. And further, I believe we should encourage, openly, other nations to restrict dual citizenship. This is not the first time it has come up. And won't be the last. So I urge the Landsraad to act and finally do something about dual-citizenship! Erik Mortis BrookshireCommoner of Alexandretta

Re: Duel Cit Restrictions.
Fully agreed. Dual citizenship is even pushing it in my opinion. (As a former citizen of four nations at once, I can personally vouch for the fact that, not only did my loyalties often cross paths, it was very difficult to participate in all nations at once. For the first time, I am only actively participating in only one micronation, and I am (in my opinion) far more involved and interested. So, if god is falliable, does that mean that this universe (or plane of existence, depending on your style of thought) could be nothing more than a metaphysical trashcan?Platypi point to this being true.

I would favor this if and only if it included a grandfather clause. I'd hate to have to force, for example, Rakesh to choose between Babkha, Hanover (where he's PM) and here.

I disagree with this fully. If you enact this we will almost certainly lose at least 1/3 of the people here... possibly more!I must agree though, that if this HAS to be done (which it shouldnt...) a grandfather clause is NEEDED...

Dual citizenship is evil.. but people are to used to it.. and it is to widely used.. it needs to be slowly eliminated. I think many of us have seen the evils of it.. split loyalties.. espianage.. Erik Mortis BrookshireCommoner of Alexandretta

I'll give you that much, that sometimes it splits loyalties (like back when I was with FIOJ and Shireroth...)But to get rid of it? Nah... that's no good, and we'll lose so much of our population!

This causes funky things if you use the slippery slope argument."If we do this, Shireroth will soon accept only one citizenship per person!""If we do this, Shireroth will soon accept only zero citizenships per person!""If we do this, Shireroth will soon accept only minus one citizenships per person!"... and so on... Do you really believe Project Bluebook revealed EVERYTHING the Army Air Corps knew? Do you know what REALLY happened at Roswell, New Mexico in the late 1940s? Have you even heard about the Men in Black? Do you have any friends who have `missing days'? Do you sleep with your window unlocked?Be seeing you...

Right now....we *do* have quality citizens. However, I do believe that Shireroth as a whole will lost some of those quality citizenships if we ban tri-citizenship. We passed this law awhile ago....and no one had a problem with it. I believe the tri-cit should stay in place. If people have to choose between loyalties...then force people to make the decision. People are going to have more than one citizenship...however, I honestly think that we don't need to worry about split loyalties with the average citizen. If we're all doing our jobs, then we won't need to restrict peoples' citizenships, because Shireroth will be the most very bestest place in Micras.Y'dig? Now it's time to kick out the jams, motherfucker!

I really have no opinion either way at the momment. With a grandfather clause protecting people who are already a member of three nations, I could be induced to support it; however, without the pros do not necesarily outway the cons (nor vice versa). I should point out that a grandfather clause HEAVILY favores the old generation over the new. Enough of that kind of thing goes on natually, so you should not add to the seperation with actual legal backing. Plus, it sets up a "We do have to follow the laws, but you guys do, so ha ha, mortals!" situation, which is completely unfair and flies in the face of the concept of law that governs all equally.

We would also add a clause saying that if you dropped that 3rd citizenship you could never regain it or switch it for another.. Wylþeow du GrifosThe Kaiser of ShirerothThe gods blessed you with power and a visionThe gods gave you life to accomplish a mission...

Nothing, as "Jarrett Deane" could tell you. But it would be tough to pull off without getting caught. As intelligence director, I fully support people doing that as it makes my job more fun.
