Re: Imperial Decree #204: Lac Glacei
My Lady,You have created a difficult position for me and for Elwynn. While I respect your decision and understand your reasons for it, I am saddened that it had to come, but I am sure that you took this decision after having discussed it with the former Count of Lac Glacei.By holding on to the memory of the late Baron of Elwynn, David, and respecting what he has done to Elwynn, there is a deep connexion between Elwynn and Lac Glacei. Also, Iain had an affection and feeling of home in Lac Glacei. Or so he told me.Even if we disregard the emotions arisen from your decision, my Lady, technical and legal problems remain. The Contract of Elwynn was designed in such a way that changes to the Contract required unanimous consent from all signatories. At the moment there are seven, one of which is the County of Lac Glacei.Without being disrespectful, my Lady, you have in essence violated the Contract of Elwynn. While I am sure that it is in your powers to do so, I feel a bit left out, because I do not know whether or not the Contract still is valid. If it is not, which it looks like, then that would have fundamentally altered the daily lives of your subjects and citizens in Elwynnese lands. I hope that you have considered this in taking your decision. I also ask you to tell your people in Elwynn the status of ElwynnÂ’s contract and the status of Elwynn as a whole.Your loyal subject:Richard Lyon AndelarionDuke of Elwynn

Imperial Decree #204: Lac Glacei
The Kaiseress realizes that the situation regarding the Shirerithian County of Lac Glacei is tense right now. Although we are willing to discuss the matter with Treesia and the Grand Commonwealth, and to consider possible compromises, we are determined that--until such negotiations conclude--Lac Glacei will remain in Shirerithian hands. The current Count of Lac Glacei is also the current Chairman of the Sovereign Order of Treesia, and the Kaiseress feels this may present a conflict of interest in the future. Therefore, the County of Lac Glacei is hereby placed under the direct control of the Kaiseress, and incorporated into the Shirelands. As Count Iain has served well in his position, and as we bear him no grudge, he is granted the larger and more prosperous County of Loralia, natural capital of the land of Lothlaria. If he prefers another County, he is welcome to choose that one instead, as long as it presents no political problems.By my hand,Her Niftiness, The Resurrector: Semisa, First of the Name, Kaiseress of Shireroth, Protector of Comstokia, Overlord of the Duchies of Naudia'Diva, Elwynn, and Kildare, Thane of the Shirelands, Keeper of the Apollo Legacy, Grand Master of the Orders of the Dragon, Griffin, Phoenix, and Chimera, Wielder of Vengeance, Bearer of the Celestial Barrier, Countess of Shirekeep, Knight of the Dragon, Arsonirathius of Delvenus, Knight Companion of the Most Magnificent Imperial Order of the Sovereign Viking Crown, Princess of Hvalafell, Priestess of Cedrism, and Lady of the Golden Mango Throne.

Most likely just the provisions for Lac Glacei. Re: Imperial Decree #204: Lac Glacei
Your contract remains whole, good Duke, and recent actions from your subjects gave me little choice in this matter. Edited by: Kaiseress Semisa I at: 11/30/05 9:52
Re: Imperial Decree #204: Lac Glacei
My Lady,Your answer was somewhat ambiguous...Bill,And I stated that I am sure that it was in her right to do so. What I was wondering whether her decree nullified the whole contract or just the provisions on Lac Glacei. Edited by: RicLyon at: 11/30/05 9:51

Re: Imperial Decree #204: Lac Glacei
If anyone asks the Judex.. this will be my responce..The new county will replace the old. For while the name changed, it is the same Count, just different physical land. The spirit of the contract remains intact, and while the wording may now be slightly inaccurate, I hold to the tradition of not violating the spirit of the law simply because of the way it was worded. Especially in a case such as this, where nothing is truely on the line. The Contract of Elwynn is still valid in the eyes of the Judex, and all will be required is a change of name, which may not be stipulated in the contract explicitly, I would say, would not violate the contract to enact, as the change was may by the Kaiseress herself.Does this help? SWEET, I got quoted! By Shyriath no less! Life is good. There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.
Re: Imperial Decree #204: Lac Glacei
Thank you, Provost. That was really helpful

I aim to make life easier... but also to uphold the law. The spirit of the law in Shireroth has always been at the core, for words can sometimes get in the way of the meaning. However, if it was something more.. life threatening.. I may have asked for you to put something before the Judex... But as it was just a matter of convienience.. etc..etc... yadda yadda..OH! I have an idea! *scuries off* E. Metzler (UEC)Duke of Brookshire"Never use a BOO/\/\ist as a diplomat" -- GSClicky Clicky..., Tiss for your own good ya know.
