On the maps.. automatic has been there for... 4 years I think... since a long as time ago.. well.. maybe 3..3.5 anyhoo"Obviously this will require that the law banning inter-fiefdom alliances be repealed." Not repealed persay, but proly reviewed and modified. As these contracts literally create a new subdivision. And thus the agreement is within the Subdivisions.I still don't like the idea of Duchies "Allying" up with each other against each other.. or evern the Kaiser...Oh.. and.. I'll be the Provost... I like this idea, but are citizens forced to have a county? There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

By no means. I would've assumed people would want a County, for the same reason that everyone wants to be an Ambassador: status.

Quote:I hope not. The last thing we need now is for Erik to come back.Fuck you. Erik is a citizen like any other, and his opinion is like any other citizen's: ignorable. People (like you) take his word for law, when you could potentially just ignore it or argue it down.Granted, it doesn't help that he knows Shirithian law better than just about anyone, but that's alright. If you want to compete, learn the laws too and fight him at his own game instead of bitching about it. Viatax Sitadi Axdivijink Regigoraauk

Re: Discussion: The New Feudalism
Back to the matter at hand (gasp!), is there some sort of concensus as to whether this is a good idea? And how would we implement this plan?Personally, I like it, and I think it could open doors to new politics that I would want to be part of. It could, potentially, put much more emphasis on the political aspects of the country, rather than the cultural (which I'm not actively promoting) and the merely social (which Bill was just complaining about).So...anyone else supporting this outright? *throws grenade for the hell of it*BO0O0O0O0/\/\!!!!!!

A Barony may be created from the alliance of two or more Counties, up to a maximum of four. At five Counties, the Barony may become a Duchy. b. In this case, it must be stipulated in the alliance contract of the new Barony exactly who the Baron or Baroness will be.3. Duchies a. Duchies may be created through the alliance of two or more Baronies, or the alliance of five or more Counties. b. In this case, it must be stipulated in the alliance contract of the new Duchy exactly who the Duke or Duchess will be.4. Definitions a. Quote:It could, potentially, put much more emphasis on the political aspects of the country, rather than the culturalYes, if the political part was active. I mean, yes, everyone wants votes, but the focus on changing around to get more won't be prominent unless we have bills, LOTs of bills, in the Landsraad. The fallback, of course, is that if there's not that much political activity, having your own county actually turns it around and amplifies the cultural aspect, which is what I believe will happen if this plan is executed, since our Landrsaad is more or less down at this point in time. They call it a signature, but no one ever signs their posts...

Re: Discussion: The New Feudalism
Actually, I was thinking about the politics of alliances between counties and jockying for position among the subdivisions. I know I want to gain alliances with at least a couple of other counties and hopefully reform Kildare in some incarnation. I want status, damnit! I like status. We don't necessarily always need to have a bill or ten in the Landsraad to consider ourselves politically active. And I entirely agree about how the county system may very well turn around and make the cultural aspect even more important. It is worth testing out, I think. *throws grenade for the hell of it*BO0O0O0O0/\/\!!!!!!

On a side note.. We should reduce every current subdivision to it's core County. And have people build from there.. otherwise the system will start with wholes in it... and counties in places with no one in them... and the numbers won't add up..etc...
