Post by Kaiseress Aure I »

I hereby declare that Shireroth welcomes warmer relations with any other nation. At no point our nation is to be isolationist. This is my will,And my will is Law. May the hasha be with you

(I suppose this question is now for the new Kaiser)ANY other nation? This sort of makes the job of Foreign Minister irrelevant and could lead to some major problems. We have to get relations with Politika if they ask? With Cyberia? With the National Socialist Dictatorship of Al-Qaedastan? (not that they exist, just hypothetical)

I think this decree is mostly fluff, and I did not revoke it because I do not see the point in removing this. I think it is a nice gesture of our intentions, both to our citizens and to foreign powers. While Shireroth should desire warmer relations with everyone, we are not likely to get them. We will have enemies. We will have nations that we do not see eye-to-eye with. We will have to face people that want nothing to do with us, resent us, hate us, and wish to destroy us. Someone will have to keep track of these nations, issue statements to them, and negotiate with them.On a happier note, we will also find nations that we can empathize with and wish to ally with. Someone has to negotiate and maintain our friendship and possible alliances with these people. So I would not worry about losing your job just yet. Micras is big. There is a lot of work to do out there.

So are we forced to pursue relations with countries we don't like if they ask, or not?

Scott, yes, but not to the point of stupidity. If a nation we have bad relations with asks to improve those relations somehow, and we have no real reason not to, we should attempt to improve relations. But if they are obviously deceptive in their requests or have been mean to us before in ways that we find difficult to forgive, then we can ignore them.Hearing your concerns does make me think this might need to be rewritten, however.
