David...

Post by Scott of Hyperborea »

Trying to figure out how I'm going to manage meeting you on the 23rd.It wouldn't be convenient for you to come to London (Luton airport) on that day, would it? That'd save me epic amounts of worry. If not, what's the closest airport to you that would have cheap flights to Dublin, how close is it, and how would I get there? I guess I would take the train to Derby, meet you (proly not for more than two-three hours thanks to time constraints) and then take the train to the airport? Or something? You have a better idea? What train would I want to take? Are there any directly from Luton, or would I have to go through London first? Edited by: Scott of Hyperborea  at: 7/9/05 10:17

well, there is an airport near derbyEast Midlands Airport.... (dont believe that rubbish about it being called nottingham East Midlands airport...thats just evil babkhan propagandaas for me getting to london, or you getting to derby, there is apparently no way to get from one place to the other. All roads lead to rome, so all places should be linked even if you have to go via Rome...but apparently, Luton and Derby are exempt from this rule...Derbyshire County Council cliams that Midland Mainline can do it, but Midland Mainline's ticket site says they dontso, I checked London St Pancreas....for me to get to london...leave derby at 11am, get to london at 13:00leave london at 15:00 get home at 17:00..time enough to get to work, with a 1/2 hour buffer for leaves on the line.to see for yourself, go to http://www.midlandmainline.train...ements.aspand use the stations LONDON ST PANCRASDerby(if you put in luton instead of derby, it turns out that you can get from luton to london)(st pancreas is the one on the midland mainline, so needs no changing trains)on getting from east midlands airport to dublin..only one flight that dayFR 539 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 22:05 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Depart &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp East Midlands (EMA)23:00 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Arrive &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Dublin (DUB)with such flight times, it seams like I will be coming to you.

Okay, so, my cell phone isn't working now. So I suggest we choose a time and place (like - the exit to the Luton train station, at noon) and meet there. If I don't show up, it means I'm having border police problems, and I apologize but it's not my fault.

Bring a camera, as mine broke last night.I will be wearing a blue shiny shirt and a necklace with a silver spiral on it, if it helps you recognize me.
