I know this great hostel in Harlem... great place. No, seriously, I don't. Good luck finding one. There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

You might have to spring for a regular hotel room or two. You can fit a lot of people into a hotel room, you know.

Especially when you share beds. There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

Sorry, not for the number of people we're looking at. There's a cheap hotel nearby, though.

I'm going to be looking for hostels, but the convention is DEFINITELY happening and is DEFINITELY October 15 and 16 in NYC, so make your plans to get there now before it's too late. Edited by: Kaiser Los III at: 9/2/05 14:31

Re: New York City hostels
Is it still possible to sleep at your house Sat night? The hostels I'm looking at are all around $30/night and although we have to stay there the first night because we'll all be exhausted from our trip into the city, it'd be great if we could all crash at your place Saturday. You and your nation should be on MicroWiki, micronationalism's premier source for information. Get over there and write up an article now! It's a quick and easy way to get your name out to the whole micronational world.Edited by: Kaiser Los III at: 9/2/05 14:55

How nearby (within walking distance?) and how cheap? You and your nation should be on MicroWiki, micronationalism's premier source for information. Get over there and write up an article now! It's a quick and easy way to get your name out to the whole micronational world.

Re: New York City hostels
As for the distance, we'll have four cars. Don't worry about the distance. The money? One can get a huge hotel room for about $123

Would it be possible to have about half of us in your house, and then the other half can share a room? You and your nation should be on MicroWiki, micronationalism's premier source for information. Re: New York City hostels
The Anticans and *mabye* four of you can stay. My mom has suddenly aquired a problem with housing strangers. I *think* that if I can satisfactorily prove a prior relationship, you can stay. But don't quote me just yet.
Re: New York City hostels
I would love to go to Shirecon, but unfortunately I am wasting all my money this summer (not wasted, but spent it all)I think sharing a hotel room can be cheap as to be less than $10 a person, if you turn it into a camp site. I have had experiences in tiny Motel 6 rooms which worked out fine, so I think that would be b est.
Re: New York City hostels
Transportation isn't going to be a problem ... I've fit as many 11 people into my van before (it was VERY cramped), but with other cars too, we'll be fine.

Re: New York City hostels
Right now things are looking like this.We will be staying at some hostel or other on Friday night. It'll be about $30, and will be accessible from the airport/trainstation either by subway or by their own special hostel bus.Saturday night we'll be staying either at Foghorn's house, the houses of any other Anticans who will take us in, or the hotel near Foghorn's house - probably some combination of all three.Sunday night everyone's on their own and we'll figure it out when we get there.IMPORTANT: Is anyone planning on going to the hostel who is under 18 years old? A lot of hostels don't like minors staying at them, and if there's anyone younger I'm going to have to make sure to get one that will allow them, so SPEAK UP! Re: New York City hostels
The hostel will have a bus that goes to the airport? That would be great for me, since I'll be coming in around 11:30pm on Friday. *throws grenade for the hell of it*BO0O0O0O0/\/\!!!!!!
