Bill's been meddling again...

And please forgive me if this looks like a big spiel against Bill, because it is. The main problem here is Bill's assumption that "back then" was better than now. Now, people like me or Hypatia never knew a "back then" so we try to work on the now. It's actually quite annoying to have history shoved down my throat. When Sai first told me the history of Micras (AKA Apolytown and forward) it sounded nice and interesting. He made it into a story about then and that led up to me joining the now, or, rather, the 8 or so months ago.However, all the listening to Bill rant about how Jasonia was great and stuff makes me like the stories of the past less and less. The Sai Jasonia was a cool democracy. The Bill Jasonia was some fucking empire of greatness that some asshole tries to glorify, and I hate it. I hate the past that Bill asserts to me. Every time I read something like the link above I half-wish that I had joined earlier so I could try and stop things like egocentric maniacs run around feeling important, and then losing that importance and trying to assert it on those who still recognized it.As I go forward, I get more and more annoyed, hence the increased harshness. Bill wishes that people still valued his opinion. But his character is that, when someone doesn't agree with him, they are wrong. And that creates situations like the above: Bill doesn't realise that no one wants his input, and continues to perpetuate arguments on the basis that A.They are wrong, or B.He is simply responding to them, and that it is their fault, not his.This is also why Sai has taken an unannounced LOA. Bill and Sai are opposites... kindof. Bill is stuck in a dreamworld where he has the right to throw out what he thinks and the right to annoy people with them if they don't like them. Sai, on the other hand, is stuck in a dreamworld where no one values his opinion, and he has no voice. I tried to help Sai by negotiating a deal with Hypatia where he would become a Baron if he joined Kildare. This would've, at the time, helped Kildare and would've allowed me to show him that people can value his opinions and that he can have a voice, if he tries. His reluctance, however, rejected that plan, and annoyed me for the billionth time, because I've been trying ever since I joined Shireroth to get at least one favor out of him, and with no success. But that's a grudge.Bill, however, isn't that easy to attempt to help. To calm him down one would usually show him how everyone hates him. Bill is a troll. He relishes the negative attention, like a child who yells and stomps around to get attention from his parents. Traditions, such as have been made because people don't like him. Above, he has even been BANNED from a micronation!When I tried to talk to him about this, however, he responded that all micronationalists are trolls. Well, my response now is, "Is Shyriath a troll? Is Greg a troll? Hypatia? Hypatia's Mom? Fax? Eriana? Was Alex a troll? Ari?"All these people have never once said anything just to start a fight, as far as I know. All of them are or have been upstanding citizens that, at one point, at least, enjoyed the hobby and many have stuck with it. Hell, Greg is one of the OGs, and he's also one of the most loved citizens. Never an unjust word have I ever heard from him.But it's People like Bill who try to bicker over the past, and have the twisted idea in their mind that causing controversey is good because controversey, supposedly, is the new lifeblood of micronations. A man named Lord Raffles once said that(er, something similar, but not of micronations), and he turned out to be the worst troll I've ever seen, and I hate him and any memories I have of him. It's the people who have faith in the good of the hobby, who want to stick by it, that shouldn't just stand idley by and let people like Bill plague it with anger because "It creates discussion." All the times I've read or experienced that, I haven't been having fun. I have been trying to STOP it. And it's not fun. Hypatia's Mom: Yay! Now that you've had a second to your post, I'll join and say that that was a good rant. But you knew that already. I have nothing against Bill personally, because he's a generally nice guy to me at least, but the trolling for the sake of trolling is something I despise regardless of who does it. Ryan is a PERFECT example of this. He tries and tries and when something fails, he doesn't whine about it; he forgives and moves on. I hate to say this because I know of your grudge against him, but look where he is today for it. The fundamental difference between me and Bill is that I try and make the past fit the present, while he does the exact opposite.In mn's, the past doesn't mean jack squat and is usually relegated to a simple "generalised" form.
