Well, I would have liked Nick to post this, but since he's gone...To celebrate Independence Day this year, we have a special surprise prepared. The Independence Day Prize, made possible by our many generous anonymous donors, is a free trip to the Sonoma convention for someone who has expressed interest in attending but might not otherwise have the financial resources to go. Although the recipient will still have to pay for food and a short bus ride (it may be possible to get rid of even these incidental costs depending on last minute arrangements) the Prize's generous anonymous donors will pay for the recipient's airfare to California and back.This year's winner is someone who joined Shireroth within a week of its founding and who is, amazingly, still here. Someone who leads a Barony and a Ministry and who is generally (pun intended) well-liked. Congratulations, Gman Russell!IMPORTANT NOTE 1: GMan, please contact me on AIM sometime so we can finalize arrangements. I'm assuming you can get to Raleigh airport - if you can't, we've got some big problems to discuss.IMPORTANT NOTE 2: We still are about forty dollars short of our intended monetary goal, and I realize not everyone has yet been pestered for money. While some donors have generously offered to make up the difference if we can't get it, they have already donated more than enough and it would be very nice if two other people would volunteer to donate $20.
