The painting riddle: "Salvador" is hidden in the picture, by way of representation and similarity of shape in the odd collection of animals in the middle. It refers to Salvador Dali, famous painter. Remember, my child, without innocence, the cross is only iron, hope is only an illusion, and you're nothing but a name.

Mmmm...that MAY be correct...but Malarbor seems to say that both the first AND the last names are hidden in the picture. Unless you can find a "Dali" somewhere, I'm afraid I can't count your answer.

I disagree with this consolidation of all the riddle answers! Multiple threads ensure greater activity!

The Breaking Riddle:Your virginity? No, in all seriousness, it has to be a record.IE: Last year's record for largest bubble blown from bubblegum was 23". This year's BROKE the record and is BETTER by 5 inches, making it 28". (I know these aren't the real numbers, but they serve an example.) Remember, my child, without innocence, the cross is only iron, hope is only an illusion, and you're nothing but a name.

I saw it in the spaces between the animals. Remember, my child, without innocence, the cross is only iron, hope is only an illusion, and you're nothing but a name.

The number four contains four angles. This is a property unshared by any other number. That is, if 4 is written as the Arabic language intended, without the little tailey bit. Without that benighted tail, the number four has the proper amount of angles.A rather ingenious way of creating numbers, actually. 0 has zero angles, of course, and 1, which is correctly written without the line at the bottom, has one. 2 is meant to be written as Z, 3 as a backwards sigma, 4 without a tail, 5 more squared, 6 more squared, 7 with both middle and bottom lines, 8 like two triangles, 9 with a little curl at the bottom, and that's the amazing Arabic system of numbers.I think that deserves at least a gold star, and at most the thankless title of today's riddle winner for being so informative, whether I'm right or not. Gryphon was right. Four is the only number that has the same number of letters as itself.Would people dislike riddles that are actually mathematical? Because I've been finding a lot of them - but I think they might not be as "fun".

Can we get several riddles.. so that if someone gets it right away.. it doesn't ruin it for us who don't see it as soon as them and thus can't figure it out and post it in time... Erik Mortis BrookshireCommoner of Alexandretta
