Cthulhu Dolls?

Post by Ryan »

I just wanted to point out you can get them cheaper on eBay.I only paid $5 each for my Cthulhu, Nyarlathotep and Shoggoth dolls. Useless art is simply tolerated vandalism. I am a vandal.

Yes, I think the point is that they're life-sized Cthulhu dolls. You can't find many of those around anymore.

Cthulhu was a character for one of HP Lovecrafts stories if I remember correctly... right?

Indeed.Check out the link the Google ads brought up..."Warehouse 23"...I'm guessing they did their research to come up with that number. They have a gratuitous Hyperborea reference in this toy of theirs.Ryan, am I wrong, or did they mess up their shoggoth? Theirs seems to be more of an Elder Thing - shoggoths don't look like that. We should write and complain and get a Golden Stalin award like Stefu.

I have no idea where they associated an ice dragon with Hyperborea. HPL referred to Hyperborea as being north of Leng, atop the Mountains of Madness in Antarctica. The Elder Ones have a barrel-shaped body with protruding tentacles and starfish-like feet. Their eye stalks were also starfish-like (recall the eldritch symbol). They look like this. The shoggoths, which were slaves of the Elder Ones (albeit rebelling slaves), were amorphous and could assume many shapes. I seem to recall them being referred to like a big amoeba. So yeah, the doll is actually vaguely correct. Nyarlathotep is the doll that actually doesn't match HPL's description. Useless art is simply tolerated vandalism. I am a vandal.
