Interesting analogy...

Post by Alexandra Decens »

"The hormones work at different speeds. In a fight-or-flight scenario, epinephrine is the one handing out guns; glucocorticoids are the ones drawing up blueprints for new aircraft carriers needed for the war effort." (Scientific American) I have no custom signature...oh wait...

A rather American analogy, alright. In Ireland, that'd be:"The hormones work at different speeds. In a fight-or-flight scenario, epinephrine is the one making sarcastic comments and hoping no-one will listen properly; glucocorticoids are the ones toadying up to world powers in order to remain safe, even though there mightn't be any real threat, and it is against their governmental policy to do so." Quote: "The hormones work at different speeds. Don't even get me started on my lack of independent thought."

Quote from my philosophy professor yesterday: "A basic three word synopsis of Bishop Berkeley's philosophy of phenomenalism might be 'Screw the world!'"
