Mmm...it kind of works...but there's a much better answer. If no one else can get it, I'll give it to you. The one listed on the site from which I stole this is the sort that makes you smile and go "Wow, that's pretty darned clever" Edited by: Scott Siskind  at: 2/22/04 8:35 pm

Bah. You're taking this too literally. I'll give you all tomorrow to think up a really clever riddle-y answer, and if you can't I guess I'll just have to declare Gman the winner.

Goose feathers are called "down". So as a goose grows up, it is also growing "down".

I guessed a tree But I think a strip-mine is the best answer ha! and the real answer is pretty good as well. I knew geese feathers were called down due to the fact that its the stuff that fills eiderdown blankets. Also because my little brother was once attacked by a goose and has suffered from downsyndrome ever since! HA! ah.....where is that Hesam posticon when I need it......

I still think my answer is the best as it is valid in every language, not just English. Therefore I'm the real winner, no matter what you decide. Ha! Edited by: Tahmaseb Shah at: 2/23/04 9:37 pm
