We Three pay obeisance!
To the great of all Varde, the tree-god Malarbor, who has surely taken from the land all its activity. We hail thee, great Malarbor, as only the lowly Three, the incarnation of evil and his lowly servants: Egonzo and I. You, truly, are the most evil in the land, to curse people into loving you. Not even Lord Erion, at the height of his powers, could rival that!

*brandishes the blazing sigil of Tineon*Begone back to the swamps of Treesia whence you came, foul demon! The Three hold no power here, and I will not see an alliance between the Lord of Sark and the son of Lumina. Depart, lest the sun descend and scorch you!...sheesh...just once I want to have a graphics change that doesn't involve demons in some way.
Re: We Three pay obeisance!
Aaaaahhhhh, I believe I heard my name mentioned...Oh, it was thee, Sir Benovic! Well, fearest thou not, for though the heathens here attempt to drive almighty Malarbour away, and to restore some semblance of activity, His Curse remaineth, and shall be as equally repelling, for as may seen, in His stead are placed even more violently contrasting colours and over-enlarged blasphemous images. Look, my lord. Malarbor has a message for thee! Meet him in the Bosewelder at midnight. Of course, the evil forests of Hundland, where the tree-daemon was born in the beginning of days, before he came across the sea to Rothia and spawned there his children, amongst whom was Malarbor. He calls us to his seats of ancestral power to bargain with us, or perhaps to spar with us. Certainly he should, for the truly estimable villainous lack of activity in this realm of do-gooders is inspiring to one whose heart is black and pitch.

*rides in*I pray forgiveness for my lateness masters! Lately the upper lerpas have been causing me probems! But now I am called to serve this cause in this republic! And I too pay my obeisance to the tree god Malarbor!

Brother under evil, I salute thee! Now we all Three are assembled here to bow before ye, Malarbor Treedevil. Prithee, cast this part of Tirlar into e'en greater inactivity and chaos than before we came to your realm, and never leave these lands, lest a new era of hope and horrible goodness spawn here. We shall uphold your principles of reactionary conservatism and stubborn-ness, lord!!

I'm afraid I have the rather embarassing task of informing the Third Facet of Chaos that his name ought to be spelled with an "R" like so: E-R-G-O-N-Z-O.

Oh please, do you really think we'd let those pentagrams be drawn down if they had any effect on us? Do not tell my brother knight how to spell his own name, Hyperborean bear-snack, he knows better than you ever shall. For his name is one of the six-hundred-and-seventy-three symbols of N'grash, the Bearer of Quorn!!!

Depends whether you draw them deosil or widdershins, doesn't it?Hey? What are you all looking at me like that for? I'm not a witch! WHY ARE YOU TAKING OUT THOSE TORCHES AND FIREBRANDS?

Well, it was either you or the Almighty Malarbor who took down the Ezboard server, and I rather think it was... Lord Erion of SarkOne of the ThreeProtector of the Sandworms

Yes, and don't think we didn't spot that hastily-rubbed out pentagram of Ezboard-destruction underneath your rug. The Lord Malarbor wants not to destroy the fora, merely to constrain them under the bonds of inactivity.

Re: We Three pay obeisance!
Besides, I don't understand this "up is good, down is evil" association that most people seem to make anyway. I mean, perhaps I'm slightly more positive than the rest of the world, but I for one do not want to live on a planet that just wants me to become evil at 9.8095794 m/s^2 all the time. I spend my days enjoying the minty taste that surrounds Erik. Edited by: Ari Rahikkala at: 2/11/04 10:21 am

Re: We Three pay obeisance!
I'd also like to point out that throughout history symbols associated with good and symbols associated with evil have looked strikingly similiar...Anyone have an explanation for this? *shrugs*

Yeah, take any symbol - turn it over - then upside down - the inside out - and poof, like magic you have the opposite meaning.

Re: We Three pay obeisance!
Well, a lot of cultures tend to steal symbols from other cultures without necessarily getting the meaning. For example, the ancient peoples of the Near East used the pentagram because the course of the planet Venus traces a pentagram through the sky and so it was a symbol of natural order. When the Christians came along, they saw these pagan people with their pentagrams and their decidedly non-Christian magic rituals and thought it was all a little sketchy, so they associated it with evil. Or, for another example, the Hindus were using swastikas as a symbol of power for a long time. Hitler thought that was associated with his messed-up concept of Aryans, so he stole it, twisted it around, and poof - it becomes a symbol of evil. When I used to wear a Jewish star necklace, someone thought it meant I was a devil-worshipper, so I guess that must have some sort of bad connotation to it too.

Re: We Three pay obeisance!
The 6 pointed jewish star (wasn't it called the star of David?)actually isnt associated with any evil (unless you believe the Jews to be evil. I for one dont so... *shrugs*) He must have been an idiot and not seen the 6th point and GOTTEN the point.clever word play, no?Scott, are you Jewish in faith or blood? Usually people don't wear one of those unless it's one or the other... but we are in the land of illogical nonsense. *shrugs*And I didn't know about that pentagram-venus thing... Interesting.AND (lots of ands)can anyone explain to me why a cross turned upside-down is apparently wrong? Anyone remember the P.O.D. symbol they use on the cover of their albums? Put a circle in the middle of it and you get the symbol for witchcraft... (anyone feel like being charmed? BOO-YEA! yet more clever word-play and references!)

mmm...I know in norse regions, people wore a hammer of thor...,with the head facing down, while amoungst there own people...and when any christian oprresors were near by, they would turn them upside down, to look like a cross...
