How hollow does your life feel?

Post by For Her Light »

We might be dogs astrayNo running line will hold usSo rather kick and kill meI'll be butchered all the sameI know my life has been treading water since August. I've felt nothing but a profound sense of emptiness. No affection, no warmth, not even friendship. I'm surrounded by aliens so I retreat inward only to find the defences I've built up around myself choking me at the throat.'Cause I want somethingSomething all wrong doneA life instead of mere livingFolding crumbling withering oh hellWhat difference when working the wayLife as it is now is not living at all. It is a coma without the comfort provided by lack of awareness. To feel trapped and surrounded, suffocated and dead, buried alive, and aware of it entirely is the worst and most frightening feeling imaginable. The other awareness, that it's within your power to do something about it yet somehow you falter and fail consistently, pushes you even further down. You first curse those around you for being flawed, and then you curse yourself for your own very obvious flaws. Then you start to feel why everyone else is smiling and you're freezing in the rain, but you can't see it yet.Daylight awake to a puppet worldNo strings attached to this body of mineFolding crumbling withering oh wellThe punished pushed along the lineAll my actions, all my movesA life all mine to loseYou just feel it biting you. And so we lay,We lay in the same grave,Our chemical wedding day...

Discussion is neither required nor requestedThis was just catharsisAnd don't worry about "giving up". I've never been much for that. So here's something a little bit more uplifting:I hold up my hands, I stareAnd they are clean, untainted by the worldAll I can do is sit and thinkThink of what I could have changed"Why, oh why", I ask the skySilence is its sole replyBlinded by my light, my dayGuided by my faith through the gardenBless me while I make my standWatching, waiting for the stormComfort cannot compensateNothing could replace your armsOne sigh away from going madReason hanging by a threadScrawled on th the wall in tears and bloodThese will be my final wordsNo tearsNo sorrowI'll wait for tomorrow-Compliments of Mark Ward of Toms River, NJ (with a bit of reshuffling by my own hand, but not much) And so we lay,We lay in the same grave,Our chemical wedding day...

This is extraordinarily like this woman who was at the Marxism 2003 conference at Trinity on Saturday. She got so worked up about the plight of homeless people, the corruption of the government, and everything else, that it was pretty funny, people smiling into their hands and stuff like that. Halfway through, my branch sec whispered into my ear "People never get that worked up about things when they're members of revolutionary parties" and apparently everyone else was thinking the same, because the chairperson of the meeting at the end said the usual "For anyone interested in joining the SWP, especially some of the speakers here today," and everyone laughed. Quote:One day Mal-2 asked the messenger spirit Saint Gulik to approach the Goddess and request Her presence for some desperate advice. Shortly afterwards the radio came on by itself, and an ethereal female Voice said YES? "O! Eris! Blessed Mother of Man! Queen of Chaos! Daughter of Discord! Concubine of Confusion! O! Exquisite Lady, I beseech You to lift a heavy burden from my heart!" WHAT BOTHERS YOU, MAL? YOU DON'T SOUND WELL. "I am filled with fear and tormented with terrible visions of pain. Everywhere people are hurting one another, the planet is rampant with injustices, whole societies plunder groups of their own people, mothers imprison sons, children perish while brothers war. O, woe." WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH THAT, IF IT IS WHAT YOU WANT TO DO? "But nobody wants it! Everybody hates it." OH. WELL, THEN STOP. At which moment She turned herself into an aspirin commercial and left The Polyfather stranded alone with his species.-- The Principia Discordia I got it! The Necronomicon must obviously be a Mornington Crescent rulebook!

We can't just stop being miserable because people are selfish. If we could just learn to love irregardless of color, race, etc, then yeah, we could work together for the common good. But people cant be selfish, which is why communism doesn't work....

I don't know.. if you didn't have the taint of socioties and cultures that were selfish.. you might be able to make a selfless culture... Tibet comes to mind kinda... Mortis BrookshireKaiser of Shireroth

Yeah, but the whole world would have to be like that, otherwise Tibet's fate would be ours.
