Is that the actual origin for that one? I always assumed it was an odd translation of a quote from the anime.

Your Kaiserness, it is sentiments such as that which set Shireroth apart from Antica.
(Though privately I do wonder sometimes whether Shireroth, as well as micro-nationalism in general, is one big giant meme.)

If micronationalism was a meme, it would be more popular.

Maybe we should make it a meme?
Though we did have one. that pic of that kid with the flag and the title. "Micronations is serious business" or whatever it said.

Re: Fishday Decree #B
There's a story to our decline.
Talossa*, of course, was the original non-serious micro-nation, and it was founded in 1979. After the Internet started becoming more popular in the 1990s, the phenomenon sort of snowballed. Shireroth was a product of that growth. Sadly, I think the hobby jumped the shark in 2007 when Lovely was created by a comic and the BBC to capitalize on the phenomenon. After that point, we've just been trying to preserve what there was before. We need something to make the hobby fun and unique again. Shireroth already is that, but it needs more citizens. Also we need micro-nationalism as a whole to improve, not just Shireroth; it's only fair.
That's the motivation. Now here is the solution. Micro-national union. Aryeztur has been lately mentioning this idea. I recently shared with him some ideas of my own. Let it not be federalized but rather a loose confederation, with just a few common things, like a currency and banking system, human rights, and a single point website, one-stop-shop for all your micro-national needs, be it passports, citizenship applications, or embassies, and combined with social networking**. Perhaps let the organization be a renamed and expanded Small Commonwealth. Also have a more subjective rating system and catolog for micro-nations than the existing forumlist, something which would show the unique things each micro-nation has to offer.
Also I would add distribute MCS map on the basis of population, and, in the case of recwars, coin tosses, so you don't see vast intercontinental monstrosity such as Antica's attempt at re-creating the Mongol Empire at its height on Micras. But then I am sure some might have some opposition to making the map fairer.
* I've written for its magazine, Qator Itrins, and corresponded with some of its highest 'officials'. I know they were truly dedicated to depicting a fictional nation for entertainment purposes. Most of their citizens were adults (avg. age 30+) and some were highly educated. Although I don't find everything about Talossa appealing, such as its intentional detachment from the rest of micro-nationalism, it deserves some respect as the first in many generations of Internet-based micro-nations.
** Babkha's FaceBurqa or whatever it is has the right idea.

Yeah.. I kinda like the empire we worked so hard to create.
Re: Fishday Decree #B
There are debates about a merger between Nelaga, Shireroth and Gralus on the Gralan forum, you know?
From a distance I'm concerned about the rampant lawyerism manifesting itself in Shireroth currently. A simple Kaiserial slap on the wrist or censure by the community should suffice. - Jacobus Loki

The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave.
However, this account still manages:

Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy
And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).

No. I haven't checked Gralus' forum in ages but since I am a Shirerithian I ought to. Moreover, as a Shirerithian I have questions about said merger, and they're best aired on Gralus' forums anyway. There are debates about a merger between Nelaga, Shireroth and Gralus on the Gralan forum, you know?

Here. The other citizens heard about it via ... other citizenly stuff. But the forum's public on Gralus so I guess it's public knowledge.
EDIT:http://www.novatainia.org/Gralus/phpBB3 ... 113#p17113
A possible model. I'd still want to see more widespread support for this to go ahead.
