That's why. Perfectly placed, perfectly timed, a complete surprise he knew that at all, and an absolutely awesome reference. Quite polite, even, when you actually consider what it means. I'm not a fan of how it stumped Erik, but hey, you can't know everything. Speaking of which, Don Knuth is set to make an earthshaking announcement at the TeX 32nd anniversary celebration just about... five and a half hours from now, give or take an epsilon. I would be on the edge of my seat if my current seat wasn't such a comfortable rocking chair.
