Official Ministry Policy Re: Northern Borders
OFFICIAL MINISTRY POLICY RE: NORTHERN BORDERS
25 KRONDOKIN, 3954 ASC
All ice shelf directly north of Shirerithian territory, without intervening foreign or neutral territory, is itself to be considered Shirerithian territory. No foreign power may traverse, occupy, or exploit this ice shelf without the consent of the Shirerithian Ministry of the Exterior, the Ministry of Trade in case of economic activity or mineral exploration, or the Golden Mango Throne.
The same is true, mutans mutandis, of the austral ice shelf south of Mar Sara and any future Shirerithian southern territories.
The Leng Anomaly is recognized as not being Shirerithian territory, and all lands within thirty pixels of the Anomaly are not claimed by the Imperial Government. This is in no way meant to endorse or speculate on the existence of an island called "Leng" at the anomaly, or to contradict previous Imperial policy on the matter. Any powers claiming territory on or around the Leng Anomaly may, within reason, freely transit Shirerithian-controlled territory while traveling to or from the Anomaly unmolested.
The Ministry of the Exterior thanks our Ashkenatzi neighbors for offering us a chance to aid them in their study of the Leng Anomaly, and hopes to send a team from John Metzler III University as soon as is convenient for both powers. The presence of this team will in no way assert a Shirerithian claim to the Anomaly or contradict anything said here.
By my hand,
SCOTT ALEXANDER
MINISTRY OF THE EXTERIOR

Could someone design a map of what territory constitutes ours?

Re: Official Ministry Policy Re: Northern Borders
There will now follow a statement from Pachad Emet ben Mavet, Nohsi of the Republic of Ashkenatza.
Any comments from Aster will not be construed as the official policy of the Republic of Ashkenatza unless explicitly stated through official channels.Pachad Emet ben Mavet wrote:In welcoming this example of effective Inter-Benacian cooperation the Republic of Ashkenatza notes the statement of the Imperial Republic of Shireroth and, finding it not to be in conflict with the essential interests of the Republic and the claims represented to the Micronational Cartography Society as part of the Great Northern Expedition, applauds the constructive formulation of a policy with regards to an area of mutual interest.
The Republic of Ashkenatza will notify the Imperial Republic of Shireroth of the time and place of the departure of its expedition to the 'Leng Anomaly' with sufficient notice for a research team from the John Metzler III University to play an integral part from the outset.

Duke Farewell:
The area claimed by this policy, minus the Mar Sara shelf, is shown in red on this map.

Re: Official Ministry Policy Re: Northern Borders
I could give the expected 'lol', but this is a serious matter, regardless of Shirefags.
Herr Alexander, it would perhaps be prudent for a permanent arrangement to be considered regarding the right of transit for Ashkenatzi vessels to and from the anomaly for the duration of the expedition.

If you send me a draft of what sort of things you'd like, I'll make it official.

I think Your Excellencies will find that there is a small area of the ice shelf which would be Ashkenatzi, due to Ashkenatza's outlet to the Northern Benacian Sea via Tsofnhafn.
