Happy birthday to us!
I don't have much time for a speech, as I have to be at work in 30 minutes. But Happy birthday to us! I'll give a bigger speech after 3pm proper Shireroth time. But till then. I think it's rather awesome that we've made it 10 years, out lasting just about everyone. Bug nation my ass, those self righteous pompous asses.

Right, more proper speech time, but still not a proper speech.
So, we've survived, more or less, for 10 years. 10 years ago we were a 2 person nation, a direct democracy that banned political parties, subdivisions and mergers. Bout the only things left from 10 years ago is the Ministry of Immigration and Naturalization. Everything else has changed, even the name. Though we are still Shireroth, we are not the Republic of Shireroth (RS not RoS). The President has given way to the Kaiser, both though are dictators.
It's wasn't till the fall of the UAS that Shireroth took its more or less current form. With Nobles, the Kaiser, Landsraad etc.
To be honest, I didn't think Shireroth would make it this long, outlasting everyone else from those days. I just made it cause I was displeased with all the other nations around at the time, just to end up making the same thing, and merging it with them shortly after. And unmerging, and remerging.
In fact, it wasn't till we restructured with a Kaiser that we started to be something different, and not just a clone of other nations. Much can be thanked to Scott, he was the one that urged me to remake the country. To quote him he thought it had potential and he "liked the flag". Yes. He said that he liked the flag. Guess he changed his mind, or was lying to me so I would revamp the nation. We almost had the The Lizard King instead of the Kaiser.
It's kinda amazing how many people have come and gone in 10 years. JDS, DanK, CnCPAtrick, Reglan (the first Praetor), Nick of Yardistan, Fax and the Sonoma crew, and many others. Greg is still around, the oldest Shireroth cit next to me. And maybe that's the interesting thing about this birthday. Not how much the nation has changed, or not, but how many people have come through. How many people this nation has touched. Even if we only had 10 people come through in a year, low estimate, we've had 100 people come through. Seems both small and large at the same time. Considering our current size, and size we've had in the past, I would be willing to bet Shireroth has in total had at least 200 different citizens. That's a lot of people.
Hell, I've had people I didn't even realize were cits talk to me in Real Life, down in San Jose. Friends of Friends and all that. I was talking to Knapp when he was on leave, I forgot he was even a citizen back in Shireroth. Official Bum of Shireroth he was. Then he had some friend who joined thanks to some third party ... Hatter I think it was.
Well, to bring this longer ramble to a close. We rock. And to be more humble. I hope Shireroth can live on to see a 20 year mark. I think it is doable. I think it's more then doable, I think it WILL happen, if we want it to happen. That simple.

I think that counts as OG status.Greg is still around, the oldest Shireroth cit next to me.
Happy birthday Shireroth. Without you, and micronations in general, I don't know if I would have survived my teenage years. Kept me happy and distracted when things got really nasty in real life. Yeah, sure, Shireroth helped save my life huh? Unbelievable yeah? But it did. I guess that's why I can't find it in my heart to leave, even though i've been thouroughly irritated with the new changes. Eh. You guys are my friends, and i'd do just about anything for any of you.
Cheers, Shireroth. Here's to twenty more years of blissfull misery.
What follows has lead me to this place where I belong, with all erased.

Hail Shireroth. We will see what the future brings us!
From a distance I'm concerned about the rampant lawyerism manifesting itself in Shireroth currently. A simple Kaiserial slap on the wrist or censure by the community should suffice. - Jacobus Loki

Happy Birthday to us! I'll have lost count of the gray hairs this place is giving me within another decade.
Oh ye who torments me in dreams of dark abysses, beware the sleeping shadow, for it is a bane like no other...

Happy birthday Shireroth!
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave.
However, this account still manages:
Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy
And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).

Re: Happy birthday to us!
I was doing my annual drinking on the 24th, so consider at least one of those drinks to be for Shireroth.
